"Messi? He wouldn't cut it here, he would struggle in a cold night at the Britiannia Stadium. I'd fancy Stoke to shut him down pretty quickly, Messi is without a doubt a fantastic player but do you think he would be able to run around defenders like he does over there in the Premier League? Fat chance."

"Barcelona would struggle in the EPL as they've never played the likes of Stoke before have they? They might be able to score against lowly Spanish opposition but coming up against a team like Stoke or Wolves is something different."

"You only just have to look at how frequently Messi and Ronaldo score in Spain - Key's interrupts - "But Ronaldo scored 31 from 34 in a season at United?"

Gray replies - "I realize that, but it was a one-off."

"La Liga just doesn't have the same depth in quality that the Premier League has these days. I'd fancy West Ham against any bottom half team in La Liga, maybe even the likes of Atletico and Villarreal"

"Ronaldo would not be the player that he is today had he not played in
English football, he has it all to thank."

This year, United couldn't beat Valencia at home, and got a close 1-0 win at the Mestalla. Two years ago, United could not score against Villarreal, home or away. That same year, Liverpool couldn't overturn Atletico Madrid home or away, and needy a dodgy, dodgy penalty to even get the point at home.

Am I really supposed to believe that West Ham is equivalent to the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea, Mr. Gray?

"La Liga is an easier league to play in if you're Barcelona as no team pressures you high up the pitch like Stoke does and it is also no more technical than the Premiership anyway, infact in my opinion, the Premiership is superior in a lot of aspects."

So what if Atletico is stronger than Fulham? fact is Premier League teams can't keep up with La Liga teams.

IMO Spurs are at the level of Athletic Bilbao.

In terms of player quality anyway.

    Iraola would shit on Bale
Yeste isn't that worse than Modric
Martinez would more than keep RVP in check
and Spurs' forwards would struggle against De Marcos and Amorebieta
Than they would have to face Fernando Llorente ( not worthy ) upfront.

It's a fairly comparable comparison of two teams.

Now keep in mind that Spurs came 4th last season, and Bilbao 8th. Neutral

La Liga's top half teams would give huge problems to Chelsea/Arsenal/United/City IMO.

Andy Gray is a daft cunt.
