That was a great comment from Suarez about the verbal agreement Rodgers gave, either Rodgers accepts that it is true and is exposed as a devious scumbag or he calls Suarez a liar making their relationship even more untenable.

I'm sure all bridges have been burnt with him going public, no need to bother with the morality of things.

Still don't see him going to Arsenal, while liverpool have gone back on stances before.....this is fucking heavy. Henry's apparently vowed never to sell him to the club. Would be one ugly catastrophe.

He effectively said it was true.
Rodgers wrote:My conversations with players will always remain private. I'll never disclose any conversation between a player and I.
He's already said Suárez is confused when he talks about a buyout clause, he could have easily said the same about his other comment. And if not BR, then one of the clubs other hierarchy with less of a personal relationship with Suárez could have released a statement refuting it.

I think Liverpool are basically waiting on Spurs and Madrid in regards to Bale. If Bale does move then we are realistically the only option.

Would be lovely if we could pull out Costa before Suarez heads wherever.

You love your "effectively" don't you?
He's said:
“There were no promises made - categorically none - and no promises broken,” Rodgers said.
So no, he hasn't "effectively" said it was true.

You seem obsessed with me, but OK you can chalk this up as another win for you.
I'm guessing that was said after I'd read some sources which came in the aftermath of the preseason game you played. Because in interviews directly after the game I didn't read him saying that and when I checked the quote most sites are only reporting that this morning.
Still, he's contradicting himself.

Apparently some very strong quotes from John Henry will be published tonight.

Then the guy who apparently knows what's going to be published replied to the above post with:On the LFC.com board they are saying that the rumour is that John Henry will say the following in the papers tonight:
Luis Suarez will not be moving to another PL club.
If they do sell him, the club will have to meet their valuation of the player, which stands at around £60m.
If no club meets their valuation, Suarez will remain with the club for the whole season.
So fairly straightforward, then.
A bit stronger than that

It would be worth a back 4 stationed 12 yards from our goal every match just to have that situation.

Wait, we're asking for more than sixty million or we are going to treat Suarez more harshly?Scott M wrote:Apparently some very strong quotes from John Henry will be published tonight.

Sublime. He's really impressed me so far. I love how we're signing such technically gifted players these days.Eternal Witcher wrote:

Joseph Musker @Musker_LFC 12m
Aly Cissoko has confirmed he's agreed terms with Liverpool. Now it's up to the clubs to agree on whether it'll be a loan or permanent deal.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Speaking of Suso, have we ever successfully loaned out a youth player and had them come back a better player?

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
We've suddenly gone from having 1 black person in the first team squad (Johnson), to having quite a lot, over the last couple of years.
Johnson, Wisdom, Toure, Sterling, Ibe, Sturridge and now potentially Cissoko.

Can't recall any, but I think it'll be different under Rodgers. He seems to know what he's doing.Moriarty wrote:Speaking of Suso, have we ever successfully loaned out a youth player and had them come back a better player?

Also key is him getting rid of technically deficient players, and on an overall, cutting the wage packet.
