Costa in a recent interview with Ballague -

[b style="font-weight: bold; "][b style="font-weight: bold; "]GB[/b][/b]: Would you describe yourself as a modern centre forward who can play in various positions or how would you describe yourself?
[b style="font-weight: bold; "][b style="font-weight: bold; "]DC[/b][/b]: I don’t really like playing as an out and out centre forward. I like getting the ball in wide areas and being in possession all the time. If I’m not seeing enough of the ball I get quite agitated which is why I come looking for it and naturally drop out wide. I don’t know how you would describe me exactly.

[b style="font-weight: bold; "][b style="font-weight: bold; "]GB[/b][/b]: So that’s why, for example, you fit in well with Falcao.

[b style="font-weight: bold; "][b style="font-weight: bold; "]DC[/b][/b]: Exactly, because Falcao is a traditional centre forward. Falcao is tremendous and I’m delighted to be able to play alongside him. I hope things keep going as well as they are now.

Read in an article that Jay Spearing is on 60k per week. Say, say it isn't so.

Moriarty wrote:I can't see him staying.  We'd have Borini, Suarez, Aspas, DStudge, and Costa as our forwards.  That doesn't seem realistic.

Diego Costa seems like the kind of player who is being signed to appease the fans because he'll bring the same energy, theatrics, and drive that Suarez did.

I agree with this. Too many forwards. Defense needs looking at.

It appears that Gerrard turned down an offer from Bayern Munich last summer.

    Could've had another CL medal.

Seems made up, they wouldn't of won the CL though presuming they were going to get him instead of Martinez. scratch

Don't see why it would have been made up. Seems a bit pointless to lie about something like that.

He probably wouldn't have started, but he'd have gotten some games and Bayern probably still would have won the CL.

Liverpool team for our pre-season/Gerrard's testimonial game:

    Liverpool FC ‏@LFC 9s
#LFC team v Olympiacos: Mignolet, Johnson, Enrique, Toure, Agger, Lucas, Allen, Gerrard, Coutinho, Sterling, Aspas

Subs: Jones, Kelly, Alberto, Skrtel, Downing, Henderson, Ibe, Wisdom, Coates, Borini, Suarez, Spearing, Carra, Fowler

Probably our strongest available team. Suarez on the bench, as he's obviously not completely up to speed with his fitness yet. Wonder what reception he'll get when he comes on.

    Aspas
    Coutinho ------------- Sterling
    Allen - Lucas - Gerrard
    Enrique - Agger - Toure - Johnson
    Mignolet

    Not bad.

We're playing well so far. Dominating the opposition. Aspas has looked great today. Quite the skilful player.

Suarez seemed more like his usual self today, compared to the sulky moment after he set up Aspas' goal against Melbourne.

He was smiling and joking with Carragher before coming on and joined in with the celebrations after Henderson scored, with a big grin on his face.

Of course Arsenal are expecting another striker to come in. You've been after Higuain, Jovetic and now Suarez. It's obvious you want a striker and that you expect to bring one in. Whether it'll be anyone great or an unknown, remains to be seen.
