I know Timothy Howard made a great save on him, but he should have buried that chance and the 3 points.

Coutinho looked great when he came on, it's just a shame that we didn't even bother trying to counter-attack and waste time in their half of the field.

Markovic was so bad today. He should stay on the bench from now on tbh.

Agreed, he didn't even have a preseason and yet we haven't really bothered easing him in, we've just started him at RW in a formation that doesn't work and hoped that something clicks.

Countinho should play ahead of Markovic, even if that means having Sterling on the right.

Agreed, I was hoping for 4th and a last 16 CL appearance.  We should already be about 10 points clear of our rivals, instead we're all scrapping it out around 12th place while we begin to question whether scrub teams like Swansea are better than us.

He's a striker, his job is to score goals not bring others into the game. He hasn't even done that really. I suspect the only value he's going to get is when Sturridge is back and the entire team is kicking Balotelli, giving space to Studge. Had 3 chances at goal, best he did was hit the wrong side of the crossbar.

I wouldn't be too pessimistic, Everton and Spurs look dreadful. It's Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool fighting for 3rd and 4th.

Really missing Sturridge's movement. Mario expects the ball at his feet. There were a couple of moments where we were breaking and rather than running into space he just stood there asking for it while the player went past.

I understand he's not that kinda player. Maybe when Daniel is back he'll do well.

The only thing working in our favour is that we have our best/second best player about to return.  I would like to think that we could get 10 or 12 points from the next 4, but we all know that we'll dominate West Brom, everyone will sigh with relief and say that we are back, but we'll head into the international break and Sterling will get injured so we'll spend the next 3 weeks licking our wounds as we pick up a few draws and a loss against cannon fodder teams.

want to see this (if Gerrard has to be in the team):

    ---- Sturridge --- Mario ----
    --------   Sterling --------
    Allen -- Gerrard -- Henderson

    OR (without Gerrard):

    Sturridge
    Sterling --- Coutinho --- Lallana

    Allen --- Henderson

    OR:
    Sturridge
    Sterling -------------- Lallana
              Allen ----- Henderson
    -- Can --

I thought we'd at least have a shot for fourth, finishing top half of the table would be an achievement now.
