LFC source: Suarez held 2hour meeting today with club officials & stated he is sorry. The club asked him to make it official.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
It's a shame that the Liverpool fans have deluded Henry into thinking that Arsenal and Liverpool are rivals.
I'm not sure if the bet is EV+ now, in this situation how many times would Henry go back on his word and sell him to Arsenal? If it's 1 in 5 I should be taking this bet but I think it's even more unlikely now.
I genuinely think Henry is stupid enough to let a 40m+ asset rot in the reserves too.

We're serious about aiming for 4th this year. Our competitors for 4th place will be Arsenal and Spurs, so you can see the logic behind it.Theo Filippo wrote:It's a shame that the Liverpool fans have deluded Henry into thinking that Arsenal and Liverpool are rivals.

You surely must realise that we're looking a lot better now, with the signings from January and this summer, along with the outgoings. We've done enough in the transfer window to make up the 12 point gap, imo. Just got to see whether Arsenal bring in anyone of note.

If he's willing to take the club to court then he's more than willing to refuse to play. I'm 100% certain Henry will sell he's just trying to making Liverpool's position stronger after Suárez weakened it with his comments.
I'll forgive Henry since he doesn't know much about football. I'm sure one of his adviser will have a word in his ear later and inform him that Arsenal are not Liverpool's rivals. Swansea, West Brom, West Ham etc.. Those are Liverpool's rivals.

We're talking a successful businessman here chaps, he knows what he's saying. You're now in the business of being our rivals.

You're still way off 4th at the moment though, Arsenal haven't got weaker and Spurs have got stronger plus if Suarez decides not to play you are significantly weaker.Scott M wrote:We're serious about aiming for 4th this year. Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
12 points is only 4 wins. It is arguable that just the signings of Coutinho and Sturridge will sort that out. As for Suarez not playing, weren't a bunch of Arsenal fans saying that he actually didn't win us many points and only racked up the goals against teams that were already beaten?Theo Filippo wrote:You're still way off 4th at the moment though, Arsenal haven't got weaker and Spurs have got stronger plus if Suarez decides not to play you are significantly weaker.Scott M wrote:We're serious about aiming for 4th this year. Coutinho and Sturridge made a huge difference to us, in the second half of last season. The additions of Aspas, Toure, Alberto and Mignolet will improve us even further, along with the progress of Sterling.
I'm not saying that we'll be right up there, but we won't be as far behind this time round. If everything clicks, we may surprise a few people, though.

Arsenal would've got more points if Vermaelen didn't play at all last season, you can't base predictions on stuff that could've happened and expect them to be reliable. Duno, didn't pay attention last season to what anyone was saying. All of those additions are decent but if Suarez isn't in the side that's a downgrade as far as I'm concerned.

I think it's unlikely that Suarez would refuse to play, anyway.Theo Filippo wrote:Arsenal would've got more points if Vermaelen didn't play at all last season, you can't base predictions on stuff that could've happened and expect them to be reliable. Agreed and its not just that, a lot of other things come into play. If you have an extra team pushing you for a place it completely changes the way you approach games. The gap between us and Liverpool is bigger than '4 games'.Theo Filippo wrote:Arsenal would've got more points if Vermaelen didn't play at all last season, you can't base predictions on stuff that could've happened and expect them to be reliable. If Suárez is willing to go to court than its highly likely he'll refuse to play. Even if he does not ,he probably won't be the same player he was last season.

Doubt he's willing to go to court now that it's come to light that he was wrong about the so called clause in his contract according to the PFA.Keyser Söze wrote:Agreed and its not just that, a lot of other things come into play. Won't be the same player Keep trying to make yourself feel better

The ratio that it works for top teams is probably pretty low as a whole.Moriarty wrote:Speaking of Suso, have we ever successfully loaned out a youth player and had them come back a better player?

He will have known about his contract more than anyone. Why would his representatives advise him to mention legal action if they didn't think it was an option ?Scott M wrote:Doubt he's willing to go to court now that it's come to light that he was wrong about the so called clause in his contract according to the PFA.Keyser Söze wrote:Agreed and its not just that, a lot of other things come into play. He most likely won't be the same player. How can a player that's come out and said all the things he has then just put it behind him and act like it never happened
If you honestly think this won't effect him if he stays then

John Henry's comments are just to save face. They really don't mean anything of significance.
