Okay, I've been sacked from Liverpool, I can't play the network game all the time, and I need a save to play, so I've chosen Man Utd. I haven't managed them before on FM 11, so I thought I'd give it a go. eek2

Sorry to Cam and Jela about this. Sad I couldn't resist. shifty

    Man Utd Welcome Back Ruud

Manager Abraar was delighted to welcome back old Manchester United favourite Ruud van Nistelrooy to the club. Van Nistelrooy had rejected a new contract at Hamburg, and Abraar pounced on the opportunity to snap him up for £4.5 million. In the press conference, Abraar stated he had a great respect for van Nistelrooy and asserted that he could play a big role for the club. Van Nistelrooy will wear the number 76 shirt.

    August Review

Manchester United had a solid beginning to the season, winning all of their games. They beat Chelsea 5-4 on penalties to lift the Community Shield after a 2-2 draw in normal time. They begun the domestic season strongly, beating Spurs 2-1 before travelling to Blackpool. Man Utd beat the Tangerines 6-3, thanks to a hat trick from new boy Javier Hernandez. They then had to wait until late on to beat Birmingham 2-0. Supposed Birmingham dangerman Barry Ferguson scored an own goal in the 89th minute before subsitute Nani finished it off from a counter attack. Abraar won the Barclays' Manager of the Month after Man Utd's perfect start, and Wayne Rooney's three league goals in as many starts earned him the Player of the Month award.

    Awards:
Manager of the Month: Abraar Akhter (Manchester United)
Player of the Month: Wayne Rooney (Manchester United)
Young Player of the Month: Theo Walcott (Arsenal)
Goal of the Month: Sulley Muntari (Sunderland vs Bolton Wanderers)

    September Review

Despite being hampered my injuries toward the end of the month, Manchester United remained perfect in all competitions. An injury-time winner by Antonio Valencia gave them the three points against Wolves, before beating Everton twice within four days. The first was a 2-1 victory in the league, followed by a 2-0 extra-time win, thanks to a brace by subsitute Dimitar Berbatov. They will play Coventry City away in the fourth round. They followed that up with a 3-0 win over Wigan. The Red Devils were in scintillating form in Europe too, beating Young Boys and Anderlecht 5-0 and 4-0 respectively. Their good form earned Abraar and defender Jonny Evans second place in the Barclays Manager of the Month and Player of the Month awards respectively.

    Awards:
Manager of the Month: Arsene Wenger (Arsenal)
Player of the Month: Samir Nasri (Arsenal)
Young Player of the Month: James Tomkins (West Ham United)
Goal of the Month: Dirk Kuyt (Liverpool vs Manchester City)
