Torres didn't come out and publicly say he wanted to leave, didn't threaten court action, didn't sight broken promises and Chelsea didn't have two bids rejected. Chelsea hadn't even registered their interest until they started bidding for him during the last 2 days or so of the transfer window. Which brings me to my next point: Of course Torres didn't publicly state he wanted to leave/threaten court action/talk about broken promises, because it all happened so quickly on the last couple of days of the transfer window. He wouldn't even have had time to do all that. FYI, we did reject Chelsea's first few bids, so I don't know why you've said we didn't reject any. 

Finally. The article you've posted is more of a relaxed, interview style of chat. He's saying what he thinks. However, last night's was more of a proper full-on statement. He made it extremely clear this time and unless he wants to look like an utter spineless idiot, he wouldn't have said all that he said in such a statement-like manner, only to then go back on his word.

The reason Arsenal fans are bringing up previous quotes about Torres, etc, is because they're desperately deluding themselves into thinking that they still have a chance of signing him.

Lost out on Jovetic, held off from Higuain to concentrate on Suarez, causing Napoli to snap him up, and now losing out on Suarez.

We rejected his transfer request because Chelsea's bid was too low at the time. As soon as they offered £50 million, we were happy and accepted it. IIRC, we also told Torres to put in the transfer request, to avoid paying him loyalty bonuses and ensure that we end up with the full £50 million.

I do not believe Wenger will be willing to meet Liverpool's valuation of Suarez, which is £60 million. I do not believe we will sell to you anyway, after Henry has said that we'd categorically not sell to Arsenal, especially.

If by some chance, you bid £60 million and we accepted, I'd say that's a cracking deal on our behalf  It;s not going to happen though. 

I'm not changing my mind, regarding the Higuain thing. Opinions change when new details come to light, that's normal. I think both situations are equally funny and as long as one of them is true, I'm happy.
