Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Hey guys, do we need more strikers?
We look like complete fucking idiots. We negotiate for Clint for 2 months, Spurs for 10 minutes and they get him. We offered them Henderson plus cash, but wouldn't pay 6 million. So does that mean we then value Henderson at less than 6 mill?
Going into the season where we're already at 1 out of 6 points, we have three "strikers" if you even count Morgan, whose touch makes Carroll look like Messi. Neither of the strikers scores goals, and one is a kid with very limited prime time experience.
We saved 28m a year on wages, yet can't finance one striker in?
We look like a complete joke. On a team that struggled mightily to score goals, we shipped out at least 37% of the goals scored last year and we expect to progress while adding nobody?
I understand being cautious after Kenny basically flushed money down the toilet, but what a poor business plan this is. Spend like it's going out of style one year, then spend nothing the next year?
We better hope Suarez and Borini score 20+ each this year. Also brings in to question Rodgers. He is quoted saying he would be an idiot to let Carroll go on loan, then sends him on loan with no replacements. Said he absolutely required at least three strikers going into the season, we have two that aren't goalscorers.
I am quickly losing faith in the owners, as well.
BR's next interview should be telling on who we really have in charge here fellas.

Jeez Must, that was a pretty successful window. No new striker is a shame, but Morgan can step up.

I'm astounded. I knew FSG would be absorbing money, but to take so much and leave the squad incomplete is unreal. It makes you wonder if success is vital to their business plan.
I knew this was why they went for a young manager with a reputation to build upon rather than maintain.
It will be interesting to see if Rodger's keeps his mouth shut or not. Can't blame him if does but will be interesting to see either way.
If Rodgers knew that he was near our budget he made a big mistake making our marquee (loan) signing a CM in Sahin. We should have got a fucking striker on loan. With the addition of Allen, our midfield was in no where near as much need for reinforcements as our front line did. Management has fucked up. We're going to struggle for goals again.

Liam Tomkins says we spent 16m net. Recouped about 14m of the annual wage bill.
This is the season Warrior kicks in which is approx. 50m this season from that deal. 20m from Standard chartered. Around 40m from matchday revenue. Around 60m from media rights and League prizes. Plus other sponsors.
That's around about 200m+ in money coming in. With a wage bill of about 100m plus other money going out, you've got to say there's at least 30m in profit that's gone somewhere.

Googled the money from Warrior and Standard.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Going into a season with only two senior strikers is fucking madness. We have a tough Europa League group, got to somehow stay in contention with top 4, while competing in the League cup.
Rodgers was promised signings if he reduced the wage bill and got rid of players on transfer deadline day. We got rid of Adam, Spearing, Carroll and Ecclestone. He did his part, others failed to do so.
He said on record he hoped to bring in two players, and wanted to bring more goals into the team. We failed to do theirs. Well done Liverpool, well fucking done.
Tom Werner - "I would say we certainly have the resources to compete with anybody in football," Laughable.
"I need a minimum of three strikers. Once the window shuts, that is it until January. I have got Luis Suarez, Fabio Borini and Andy Carroll.""I would need to be a nutcase to even consider letting Andy Carroll go at this moment." - Rodgers
Errr

This probably won't be met very positively, but anyway ... how do you know Yesil isn't good enough to make the step up? He's 18 after all and that's the time when players like Rooney came through. Granted, it's not a very realistic comparison, but it's not like he couldn't.
Maybe Assaidi will push up front, or Dani Pacheco couldn't also stand up. Really, nobody has an idea and it's all guessing games. Just one thing, Give Brendan Rodgers a chance. It's his first season and had to put up with some of the abysmal transfers of the previous board. By that, I mean the prices paid. Not necessarily the players.

Maybe I picked him up wrong, but the commentator for the West Ham game says that the Carroll deal will automatically become permanent if they stay up.

Heard it was something like £17m option to buy if they stay up. Wouldn't surprise me, Brendan obviously doesn't have him in his plans.

It needs agreement from all three parties, LFC, Carroll and West Ham. I don't think he wants to go there on a permanent

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
When Sunderland contemplated losing Henderson last summer, Steve Bruce told his chairman he believed they could get £4million for him. Imagine his delight when Comolli offered £14million and then swiftly improved that bid to £16million.
Fucking idiot. Glad we fucked him off.
