Roberto Carlos changed the game and how wingbacks are used dramatically throughout the decade. Cole did not.
And @Luke, Brazilian League is top quality.
Heskey wouldn't make it in the Brazilian Serie B. Besides, Roberto Carlos was class in Turkey before moving to Brazil as well.
Disagree.
He wouldn't, as Heskey can't score goals as we all know.
No club would want him.
It's not all about scoring goals, Heskey's a physical player, and could easily hold the ball up for the scorers to score.
In Brazil they have another type of player for that, uhm what is it called... is it? no... Oh yes! Attacking Midfielders and Attacking Playmakers! That's it!
In Brazil if a player is holding the ball, he likely is an Attacking Midfielder and can actually do something else in the game other than holding the ball as well, and if it's an Attacking Playmaker, they are to use their creativity to do something else other than hold the ball up, and tend to have great vision for passes and that like.
In Brazil, a Striker must score goals and finish, while the holding player would be an Attacking Midfielder/Playmaker which can and will do other roles to aid the team as well.
The sheer physicality of Heskey would be useless in Brazilian league if he cannot score. He would not make it in Brazil, I don't think.
