Cross out Owen, he was not as good as the others, and certainly didn't leave a mark on football.

Shevchenko was a consistent goalscorer at Milan, nothing else. He failed in the second half of the decade.

Vieri's peak was at the start of the decade, so he is out.

Going to cross out Raul, because as much as I respect him for staying at one club, he hasn't been proven anywhere else. Plus he like Shevchenko was more of a consistent goalscorer. Still a Spain and Madrid legend.

Eto'o hasn't done enough IMO to be considered top striker of the decade.

That leaves the Real Ronaldo, Bergkemp and Henry as well as Van Nistelroy.

Bergkemp was class, but he retired half way through the decade, and his peak was in the early half of the decade. Cross him out.

My first vote will go to Thierry Henry. He was class the WHOLE decade. Consistent goalscorer and a main player in Arsenal's success this past decade. I voted for him in the poll.

My second vote will go to Ruud van Nistelroy. He was better, for longer, and didn't fail in the second half of the decade unlike Ronaldo.
