Just been on webcam with Aquilani. He told me he's enjoying life in Liverpool and was gutted he was left out of the team against Sunderland. He says he is fully commited, his head is in Liverpool and he'll never play for another English team.

Just been on Skype to him as well. And just to clarify on what Cadbury said; He said he's very happy in England and in Liverpool and is training hard, hoping to break into the team. He told me he deserves to be in there and that he will fight for a place.

I can't wait for ElAlonso14's Goodbye Aquilani video. It'll be a full minute montage of Aquilani's time here.

Oh yeah, when Kenny said "You might recognise some of the faces" he must have meant Benayoun.

Finally. I can put that to bed. No Alonso.

This is our squad list with contract length. People who should be gotten rid of this window are Degen Kyriakos N'gog and Insua (If Kenny's not planning on keeping them) since they have a year left on the contract and they'll go for free.

Also, I don't agree with Joe Cole being listed as a LM but I guess it's to make the position look less empty since the only one we really have is Downing.

He's not even a guaranteed starter anymore under Dalglish. I was shocked when I saw he didn't start the Snderland game, and I'm sure it wasn't a fitness thing.

the problem is as we have become less successfull over the years we have
stopped being a good `team` and started to rely on individuals to do
    something.
over the past 20 years we have relied on individual ability rather than teamwork.
a generation of fans have grown used to seeing the brilliant individual center forward who can create and score his own goals.
you`ll never win anything like that because your asking a lot for a player to pull off a bit of magic every week.
the best teams in history have been just that - teams.
    andy
carroll is a team player, he`s not an individual, his style of play is
about being part of a team not going on a meandering run and beating 5
players, there was a reason in our heyday why we never bought the rodney
marsh`es, the tony currie`s, the stan bowles`s and the duncan
mckenzie`s of this world, it`s because we were a team, and it`s because
we were first and foremost a team that we won the uefa cup final in 1976
and then from 1977 to 1985 we appeared in 5 european cup finals at a
time when the likes of diego maradona, johann cruyff, michel platini,
zico, karl heinz rummenegge, falcao etc etc all played for clubs in
    europe.
andy carroll would have been a star if he played in our 60`s -
80`s heyday, we had teams back then who created chances for our
forwards, back then they didnt give the forwards the ball 35 yards out
and surrounded by 3 defenders and say to them `you win us the game`
    it`s
no coincidence that as we have become less of a team and more about
individuals that we have become less successfull, fans these days want
individuals but kenny is from a different generation, he builds teams.

From a guy on RAWK. Interesting. I'm willing to give it a chance.

Yeahhh, but I'll stop moaning, because I'm starting to see the light.

Kenny needs to fine players £1000 each time they hoof the ball.

Good post indeed, but I hate the last part. Ruins the whole thing.

Not sure if you sarcastic about the Carroll video but it certainly gives me optimism. Along with the comparisons to Shearer and the fact that we've bought team players, whom he should fit in with. Kenny just needs to iron out the creases. Hopefully the author of that post was being overdramtic when he said it will take decades to be back at the top. Surely it's not that long? We were there two years ago.

Am not being sarcastic about Carroll. Am really looking forward to see him this season. It's only a matter of time before Carroll adapts to Liverpool, and Liverpool adapts to him. And that doesn't mean endless hoofs.

I think he was being over dramatic about the decade bit, I think he was trying to exaggerate his point.

Sorry Jamie. Gonna have to wait until post-Arsenal. If we get battered then I'll flip.

And it's really late and at times like this I tend to lighten up a bit so i'll probably go back to normal tomorrow.

I'm still waiting on Gerrard, though. Him coming back better than ever will make my year.

    You mean 0 points???

I'll be happy with 1. We will beat arsenal to fourth because they will suck later in the season while our depth will shine through unless Defoe starts to score.
