Winning 1-0 at half time and looking comfortable, compared to United's sloppiness.

3-1
Shocking 2nd half, completely collapsed. Johnson really needs to gtfo of our Club. He literally does nothing but hinder us defensively and offensively. Starting to really hate that cunt.

Beating a Liverpool side missing 4/5 first team players and Lambert up front with your strongest side bar RVP isn't that impressive.
We were missing Sturridge, Lallana, Markovic, Enrique and Lovren.

Ordinarily I would agree with you buy considering that you got yet a dodgy penalty against us as usual and we had a goal wrongly disallowed because of video technology I think you got off lightly. I'd rather have a fair referee than a few extra average players.

We also had a stonewall penalty turned down, which would most likely have put us 2-0 up. And it's just typical that our deflected shot (Sterling) goes mm wide of the post, whereas yours flies straight into the middle of the goal. That goal that was almost given was atrocious and very typical of the United luck of old. Thank fuck common sense prevailed.

Sounds like you're a bit upset about the natural order of things being reestablished so quickly.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
I'm not too concerned. What I saw in the first half reassured me pretty quickly. A severely weakened Liverpool team dictating the play against United's first 11 bar RVP. United don't impress me and I wouldn't be surprised to see them fall flat on their face once the games become competitive and there's pressure again.

If it were not a joke match, the goal would have counted. The referee and his assistants are not allowed to use video replay to determine if it actually went out, after having made their decision.

Who said they used video replay anyway? From what I saw, the lino and ref discussed it and decided it wasn't a goal.

I'm not convinced the whole ball crossed the whole line before bouncing off the frame of the goal, and even if it did referees aren't allowed to use technology to determine that.

I've never seen a linesman have to have a discussion with a referee before deciding to award a goal kick.

I see your great and prestigious manager has been advising Manchester United's novice Louis Van Gaal on how the Premier League will be a shock to his system. It's very good to see one of this country's senior managers being so helpful to inexperienced ones, what a great guy.
Any thoughts on him targeting fourth? If a United manager did that I'd want him sacked.

If he says he wants to win, he is called deluded. Offers a more realistic goal, he is called unambitious. Not a big deal.

Hopefully Flanagan is sold, although we may have to look to a non-league side to save us.

Some LFC fans genuinely think that Flanagan is one of the best right backs in the league

Agreed, it is ridiculous. Cafu should know better than to encourage them. Instead, he should show support for his heir apparent, although he is probably a bit too jealous to do so.

BBC South American football correspondent Tim Vickery has confirmed that #LFC have lined up a big name signing to 'replace' Suarez.

I'm guessing that the player will have to be South American for Timothy to be the one to break this news?samiz wrote:BBC South American football correspondent Tim Vickery has confirmed that #LFC have lined up a big name signing to 'replace' Suarez.
Either way, people are saying that he admitted he was tipped off by an agent. It seems unlikely.

Linked mostly with Cavani, Icardi and Bony at the moment.
Can't wait until Jay Rodriguez is confirmed.
Also Saints have just signed Forster. He's going to be another Ben Foster and Alex McCarthy and be absolutely unstoppable against us on Sunday.

I forgot about the Coutinho/Studge partnership. They should really be careful, Dortmund are probably still on the lookout for replacements for Goetze and Lewandowski.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Liverpool 4-0 Dortmund.
Observations:
Who'd have thought it? Actually play what closely resembles our first 11, and we look brilliant. Unlike the weakened team we put out against Man United.
Manquillo is already 10 times better than Johnson. He has to start against Southampton. Reminds me of Arbeloa.
Lovren is brilliant. Marshalled our defence vocally, which is something we've been missing since Carragher. He looked very calm and composed on the ball too and pretty much stopped anything that came his way. Definite starter. Hopefully next to Sakho, although Skrtel did well too.
Sturridge, Coutinho and Sterling are going to terrorise defences this season. Unbelievably good today, especially Coutinho.
Can and Henderson in the middle is so effective. Two proper engines. Said it before, but we will not get bullied in central midfield with these two playing.
That 4th goal was an unreal team goal. Loads of United fans have been posting gifs and videos of their apparent amazing passing, but none of them have resulted in a goal. Our 4th goal and the build up to it was better than anything United have done.
Lambert is shit. Wish we didn't buy him. Ruins what would look like a tremendous bunch of summer signings so far. Can't wait to see more of Markovic.
If we buy Moreno and another striker (preferably a good one) then our team looks much stronger than last season, even with the absence of Suarez. I'd argue it's actually stronger now. Very well balanced.
Hopefully we replicate this performance against Southampton next weekend.

That was actually one of the first things I thought when he scored that.El_indian wrote:Agger would have missed that header.
I don't see how Manquillo is anything like Arbeloa. From memory, Arbeloa was solid and steady, Manquillo looks wild defensively but athletic and able to go forward.
Glen Johnson was also exceptional yesterday, but of course Scotty Boy failed to mention it as it fails to fit in with his blinkered view of our greatest ever fullback.
