It is technically, but if we fulfill our end of the bargain at the minimum you would need to make up 9 goals in the final 2 games. I think if you win it it'll be off the back of us dropping points at Palace and/or Everton.

Tbh City are going to win all their remaining games pretty easily Laughing

I dread to think what this result will do for our morale going into the next 2 games. Title is still in our hands, but I don't think we will win our last 2 games now.

It's horrible, but it gets results. It's like how relegation fodder teams do the same, but don't have really quality attackers to make something out of nothing. Mourinho has made a career out of defending and hoping Ibra, Drogba or Ronaldo do something.

I dread to think how good Chelsea are going to be next season. You either have to be a huge personality or incredibly lucky to beat Mourinho in these types of settings. Brutal for Liverpool.

It's so efficient in the end, the guy's just a natural winner. When he's got those players at his disposal they're always going to be favorites. Even today with a "second" team playing he still managed get an amazing result. The team was set up perfectly, long balls up to Ba were working wonders, Salah and Schurrle, hard working quick players ready to pounce on the counter after harrying Liverpool attackers, a mastodon midfield and a water tight defence.... sigh...

Gerrard should consider retirement at this point. Doesn't have the legs for attack, doesn't have the positional awareness for defence. I never bought in that he adapted to his deep lying role, more like he hasn't been exposed that often.

Our bench was grim, I was looking at who could come on at halftime and the only gamechanger was Sturridge. Definitely need to address that.

This was going to be our one shot for the title. I fully expect next season is just going to be a struggle enough for top 4. Seriously, all that was needed was a disciplined performance to get just a point. As soon as the players started getting frustrated, I knew it was gone.

Gutted for Stevie, the Second goal is nothing more than a symbol of fighting with all we had to get back in it. What really bothers me though is that Mourinho gets all this credit for setting his overpaid "attacking" teams up to play anti-football. Somehow this is regaled as genius and brilliant tactically, yet when any other team takes this approach it is just the unfortunate circumstance of not having the appropriate personnel or a product of a lesser team. FUCK ROMAN, FUCK Mourinho, FUCK THE CHAV$, FUCK THE MEDIA FOR LOVING THEM. WE GO AGAIN!! YNWA.

Agreed, success has come too soon for us.  We are going to get drawn into an absolute Paul Bunyan of a group in the CL, get dumped into the Europa League, and reach the semi-finals so that we mess up our league season while not even winning automatic qualification via a European victory.

I never thought that we would actually miss Jordan Henderson.  That Lucas + Gerrard combo was ridiculously sluggish.  I would rather have played Aspas up front with Suarez and Coutinho in midfield, that's the extent of our midfield omnishambles.

His problem comes in games where teams are tough to break down I guess. He's done well against good teams, but struggled against small ones this year. I've always thought I'd rather beat the small teams consistently than the big ones if I had to choose.

He's on it today for sure, the run for the 2nd was very nice. He has a decent number of games where it's not like this though.

There's no doubt he'll put all that right next season though with a new forward or two.

Much better teams than ourselves have succumbed to Mourinho's anti-football tactics. I don't think having better players on the bench would even have made a difference.

Of course we got 2 points against Chelsea and 1 away against City last year when we were chasing midtable superiority.  Now that we actually need points, Suarez and co disappear.  not worthy
