Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
It all hinges on the Chelsea result now. If we lose there, we'll probably lose the title. I expect city to win the rest of their games this season and they have us on GD. Palace game should be rough as well but City go there first. Good final game of the season if we still go into it with destiny in our hands.

Agreed about Newcastle, we couldn't have asked for a better final fixture.Dagbon wrote:It all hinges on the Chelsea result now. If we lose there, we'll probably lose the title. We should be able to get a draw against Chelsea as long as Lucas and Gerrard don't start together. Although Ramires is missing which will decrease their pace in the middle, those two look extremely lethargic and we can only afford one.
I am just glad Everton are still in with a fighting chance of getting 4th spot, they should at least make an effort to earn something from that game. Then again, Baines could pull a Stevie G vs Chelsea (2010) and throw the match.

Hopefully DStudge will be fit to make sure that is the case.

Suggests we should be fine but you never know with this club. Losing it now would be worse than 08/09. How the fuck did we finish that season second with only 2 losses? Fuck sake.

Dem draws.
We've already matched or bettered the number of wins we achieved in that season.

Its not over yet and I just hope we beat Chelsea on Sunday and City drop points at Palace, but what a season we have had in the League I never saw this coming at all and the amount of goals. Chelsea have injury problems and they will be hopefully thinking about the Champions League game

The more I think about it the more I realize Chelsea is pivotal. City play right after our match. We win, it puts more pressure on them to perform. We lose they gain confidence. Idk what happens in case of a draw, probably still momentum shift.

City will drop points at either Palace or Everton, Chelsea game isn't that pivotal.

Aguero will take you past Palace. If we lose against Chelsea, the title is basically in your hands and that momentum will push you forward.Zzonked wrote:Dagbon wrote:The more I think about it the more I realize Chelsea is pivotal. I'd say you'll be eating your words but you won't give a fuck if you win the title. Don't forget we play Palace as well, we could drop points there too.Zzonked wrote:Dagbon wrote:The more I think about it the more I realize Chelsea is pivotal. City play right after our match. John I'd like you to have a word with the City hierarchy, a chance this good will never come again for Liverpool.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
We don’t defend well.
It’s a problem. A major one.
Hearts in mouths, last ten minutes.
Watches.
Anxious glances.
Injury time: How much?
That’s our throw-in ref.
OUR FUCKING THROW IN.
Fear.
Another slip, a header clear.
Fear.
A misplaced pass, a goalmouth scramble.
All of us aged another year.
Final whistle:
Relief, ecstasy, grown men – strangers- pumping fists and
Hugging, laughing, dreaming.
We don’t defend well.
It’s a problem. We can’t ignore it.
There will come a time we can’t outscore it.
Individual mistakes or collective guilt?
Extra training or the defence rebuilt?
Questions without answers yet.
Time.
No time.
No time to fix this, no time left, no time to waste.
Happy? You bet.
We don’t defend well.
I keep coming back to it.
I keep coming back to it because
There are so few other problems left.
Criticisms – and I’ve had plenty –
Two main ones from the last few years.
Stupidity.
Stupidity and weakness.
What was that? Stupid pass.
Why didn’t you pass? Selfish, stupid.
Why take him on there?
Why take him on?
It was never on!
Stupid.
Frustration building.
FUCKING STUPID!
Hand slammed on table for emphasis.
What the hell is this?
Bad decisions. Almost cost us.
Still a win’s a win. Moving on, our rivals lost!
A sniff of better, if we can just get a result against...if only we can...if we...
We didn’t.
We repeatedly didn’t.
If we? Forget it. No ifs with this team, only buts.
Buts and stupid decisions.
Decisions that cost us.
That penalty?
What the HELL was he thinking?
Why can’t we...
Why don’t we ever?
Weak. Stupid. Weak.
Repeat.
Week after week.
Another mistake.
Rodgers in charge now.
Infuriating.
Stupid.
Same old weaknesses
Week after week of this.
Pretty football, nice style but no backbone, mentally frail.
Can we fix it? If we don’t we’ll fail.
Week after week.
Week after week after but somewhere in those weeks,
After weeks watching us be weak,
We stop being quite so weak.
Some weeks it’s like:
Good decision. Well played lad.
Keep possession.
That’s it, patience, patience, pass it AND HE SCORES.
Turning to celebrate.
Finger – pointed, straight at the passer.
Smiles and glory, frowns replaced.
Good decision.
Smile on face.
Good pass, didn't even see that. Well played – this is a team.
It’s happening. This is building.
This is a team we’re building, building right in front of us.
This is on, we could get back into the Champion’s League
We’re solid, we’re learning.
Every week,
Week after week,
We’re learning.
Mistakes we made last week? Not the next.
We're learning, building, tweaking
Rinsing and repeating.
More than a sniff of fourth now.
Big rivals here. This could cement it.
That mental weakness though.
We’re learning,
But it'll take longer for that to go.
Take longer till we really know this is the one,
This is the one we've been waiting for.
Next season, can't wait, not now though.
Too soon.
Take to the field...
...Spurs destroyed from the start.
From the start.
No pause, no pity, all pressure.
Pressure, horrible pressure,
Spurs cracking apart,
Liverpool threading intelligent passes through the cracks,
attack after attack then SMACK!
Back of the net.
Who’s that man again?
Jon fucking Flanagan?
Our full back’s scored?
Not Johnson, but Flanagan?
And we’re going for more?
Watershed.
We all felt it, but we’ve all felt it before.
It’s not a watershed if it doesn’t happen anymore.
But then next week,
Week after week,
We’re getting stronger.
Neither mentally weak nor stupid any longer.
We’re stronger,
Week after week,
No longer meek, players made of teak – now this.
This winning streak.
Us daring to speak, daring to shout, daring to scream.
Can we make it fourteen?
We don’t defend well.
It’s a weakness, but week after week we’ll seek,
Seek solutions, practice, practise makes perfect.
We’ve seen already these methods are worth it,
These methods are working, these methods will work.
Eleven and counting, Chelsea up next.
We don’t defend well, but we won’t let them rest.
We won’t get complacent. Won’t bottle it – we’ll battle it.
Every second of the match we’ll battle it.
Suarez in attack, battling.
Gerrard at the back, launching attacks, get Mourinho the sack?
Battling.
We don’t defend. Well? With an attack like this...
I DON'T WANT TO LIVE ON THIS PLANET ANYMORE

It hurts me when the guy who wrote it actually thinks people have read it:
Great read! Thanks a lot for that.
Hah, that's great mate.
Just as good on a second read mate!
Fantastic. Some excellent writing on RAWK this season and that is right up there with the best!
Actually a lot nicer to read this way. Nice one, Yorky.
Well in. Great read.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Heart pounding like fire
Eleven warriors cheered on
Their backs against the wall
They are beginning to tire
Though this be only a battle
In a war of conquest
A war to end years of heartache
To make long-lost silverware our chattel
We know that the ground won or lost today
Lost not by lack of exertion
Lost not by a lack of passion
Lost not by a lack of quality in our play
It will determine our future, determine our fate
Will we reflect with smiles and laughs
Or will we look back with a heavy heart
Placing a flower on the grave of a lost brother
But we know that we cannot fall on this day
Our victory is surely certain
Focus, determination, and inspiration take us over the line
In our pocket rests no receipt for a tragic bouquet
And so we cheer on the warriors, a love we have always shown
A collective voice of pride, an anthem of past victories
Thousands of voices raising that cherished hymn
The hallowed You'll Never Walk Alone
Eleven warriors cheered on
Their backs against the wall
They are beginning to tire
Though this be only a battle
In a war of conquest
A war to end years of heartache
