Er, what did I change my mind about in that post?Keyser Söze wrote:You've changed your mind twice just in that one post its pathetic.Scott M wrote:We rejected his transfer request because Chelsea's bid was too low at the time. I do not believe Wenger will be willing to meet Liverpool's valuation of Suarez, which is £60 million. I do not believe we will sell to you anyway, after Henry has said that we'd categorically not sell to Arsenal, especially.
If by some chance, you bid £60 million and we accepted, I'd say that's a cracking deal on our behalf It;s not going to happen though.
I'm not changing my mind, regarding the Higuain thing. Opinions change when new details come to light, that's normal. I think both situations are equally funny and as long as one of them is true, I'm happy.
I think you should stop obsessing over Suarez, jumping into this thread deluding yourself into thinking it's still going to happen and concentrate on the poor, poor summer you're having so far and how your board are a bunch of idiots.
Poor poor summer ? Last time I checked the player that effectively single handedly won us our league position isn't begging to leave to a rival (That happened last summer and the summer before). Its Liverpool that's having the poor summer, you think Alberto and Aspas make up for this embarrassing situation with Suárez ?
We're having a great summer, actually
Loaned out Reina, who was constantly making mistakes and costed us several points in the process, and replaced him with Mignolet, who looks extremely confident, assured and hasn't even conceded a single goal for us in 5 or 6 games. He's been making saves that I'd expect Reina to concede, so we've improved there and I'm pretty sure we will benefit hugely from the lack of goalkeeping errors this season.
We've replaced Carragher with Toure, which is another upgrade. Toure has also been very decent through-out his games so far for us. He too, hasn't conceded a single goal whilst playing.
We shipped out Spearing and Shelvey, both lacking any technical skill and both your typical English "get stuck in there" players who I class as dead wood. We've brought in Alberto, who looks to be 10 times the player Shelvey and Spearing would be combined. He looks silky, technically brilliant, has scored a cracking 20 yard volley, and appears to be very similar to Coutinho, who's going to be a star for us this season. Massive upgrade there.
Aspas has come in and scored 4 goals and made 3 assists in 5 games or so. That is impressive, regardless if it's pre-season or not. Not only that, but he's done that whilst looking quite poor in terms of finishing. So, just imagine how good he could be for us in terms of goal scoring if he improves on that part of his game. He is an upgrade over Downing, who may potentially leave.
So, overall, we've gotten rid of deadwood players who lack technical ability and/or are constantly making mistakes and replaced them with players of a certain mentality, certain skill level and at brilliant prices for their ability.
We also look like we're going to bring in Cissoko, who will improve our left-back position and we're expected to bring in another attacking player and willing to spend quite a bit on whoever it is (Looks like it's Costa).
Add to that, the probability that Suarez is now going to stay. To me, it's been the best summer transfer window for a long, long time at Liverpool.
Whereas what's happened at Arsenal? You've missed out on all of your big targets so far and your only signing is a french youngster. You've stagnated. It's been poor and I've seen lots of Arsenal fans complaining about it on Arsenal Mania.
