Well for starters four league ones sides with higher average higher crowds then the SPL's third biggest club in Hearts. Then there are players like Jennison Myrie Williams who flopped with Cheltenham, yet went on to play for Dundee United and St Johnstone between 2009 - 2011. Dundee United being in the Europa League at that time. Then there is Daryl Duffy who flopped at Bristol Rovers in league one, yet joined Hibernian on loan for 7 games. Now he's playing for us in league 2. Another example is Kris boyd who managed 168 goals in the SPL who was very ordinary at Middlesborough in the Championship.
Heart of Midlothian FC 13625
Hibernian FC 12145
Aberdeen FC 10191
Dundee United FC 6944
Motherwell FC 6027
St Mirren 5447
Kilmarnock FC 5156
Dunfermline Athletic FC 5016
St Johnstone FC 4678
Inverness Caledonian Thistle 4545
League one attendances
Sheffield Wed 20641
Sheffield Utd 18044
Charlton 17234
Huddersfield 13896
Kris Boyd was outstanding at Nottingham Forest though, scored 7 in 9. When he had good players around him, Middlesbrough were shit.

One of my flatmates is a Hibs fan and he says that Junior Agogo is the worst striker they've had in years, and they have had alot of shit recently.

Agogo, Duffy, Sproule, Myre-Williams: all poor in the SPL, apart from Sproule back when he had pace. Just because they played in the SPL doesn't support your point. They were bad signings.
If we're naming names let's go for Charlie Adam, Ross McCormack and Ricardo Vaz Te.

Don't know how you added up the league one averages, but that is certainly not right. It's 17,602 by the way...
And my stats show that bar Celtic and Rangers, the rest of the league is full of bog-standard football league rejects, playing for small/ mid average sized clubs with league one esque crowds.

The football league is full of SPL rejects mate: McManus, O'Dea, Adam, Crainey, Ross Wallace, Vaz Te, McCormack, Hooiveld, Murphy, Marshall, Fortune, Fox - the list goes on. All starting in the Championship or higher now and undisputed SPL rejects.

You call them 'SPL rejects' but lets be honest here, would any SPL team bar the old firm turn down Charlie Adam or McCormack in the starting line up? Would they fuck.

Re: Celtic linked with League One switch
They aren't SPL rejects.
They clearly possessed too much quality to play in a league that was dragging them down, so had to move on to play at a higher standard of quality

There's only one way to settle this..
Have a massive tournament between SPL and League 1 clubs, see who comes out on top. I've got fuck all to do tomorrow, might sim a custom tournament and see who wins.

Re: Celtic linked with League One switch
McCormack is hardly an SPL reject. Motherwell wanted to keep him but he moved to the Championship because he was offered more money.
Just because a player moves leagues, it doesn't mean he was a reject of the league he left.

No, they're rejects.
No, they just couldn't handle the poor quality around them so had to move on.
In fact, they probably are rejects in Scotland actually.
But being an SPL reject is the equivalent for not meeting the standards of a Paralympic side

McCormack was awful for Motherwell. If you think the players I named are just random ones who previously played in Scotland you need a lobotomy. Every one was allowed to go by SPL sides or performed poorly for them.

Re: Celtic linked with League One switch
If they want to join the English league system, it's only fair they start at the bottom level just like any other club wanting to join the system. Obviously I can see why Celtic would not want to play at the very bottom. So I think they should form a new club (like a B team) and have them get promoted in the weaker leagues. Over time, move your first team to this B team.

I wonder, what opinions and precedents such a thing would hold, to have a club have teams in two separate leagues in two separate associations.
Only Udinese and their partnership with Granada comes to mind but it is not really the same.

If Celtic and/or Rangers want to play football in England should have to start from the very bottom, Start from the 11th tier of English football or lower.

Re: Celtic linked with League One switch
Why do you keep mentioning Vaz Te? He had just come back from two very serious injuries, Hibs were the first team he had played for since. Dude probably hadn't even kicked a ball in years and lacked match fitness. He always had talent, there's no question about that. Has nothing to do with Hibs.ConorCelticFC wrote:RubyArmyCTFC wrote:

I fail to see the problem. I'm sure a promotr league 2 club woukd be willing to give Celtic their place in exchange for ample compensation. It's not like Celtic can't afford it.

i think it sbetter for celtic to enter league 2, maybe league 1 is to competitive and to strong for them
