Gianni Infantino
Uefa general secretary
Some time ago Fifa took a decision to ban Sion from signing any new players for a given period. However before their game against Celtic they ignored the punishment and signed five new players. Their controversial chairman, who once kicked a linesman in the testicles so fiercely that the flagman fainted, announced that he would defy the ban and he did so by fielding the new players against Celtic. In doing so they deliberately broke the rules.
Consequently, the players they fielded were ineligible and one of them scored two goals so it looks likely that like they will be removed from the competition and Celtic will take their place.
It's not conventional and Celtic should have been able to beat Sion but they deliberately broke the rules and they should be punished. If Sion are infact removed from the competition, Celtic will get more money, the possibility of more signings from the lure of European football and the coefficients will be raised. I don't see how that's a bad thing.
The final decision will be announced on Tuesday. What are your thoughts?
