Celtic to be reinstated into the Europa League Empty Celtic to be reinstated into the Europa League

"Sion will be in the draw, but they can be subsequently excluded"

    Gianni Infantino
    Uefa general secretary

Some time ago Fifa took a decision to ban Sion from signing any new players for a given period. However before their game against Celtic they ignored the punishment and signed five new players. Their controversial chairman, who once kicked a linesman in the testicles so fiercely that the flagman fainted, announced that he would defy the ban and he did so by fielding the new players against Celtic. In doing so they deliberately broke the rules.

Consequently, the players they fielded were ineligible and one of them scored two goals so it looks likely that like they will be removed from the competition and Celtic will take their place.

It's not conventional and Celtic should have been able to beat Sion but they deliberately broke the rules and they should be punished. If Sion are infact removed from the competition, Celtic will get more money, the possibility of more signings from the lure of European football and the coefficients will be raised. I don't see how that's a bad thing.

The final decision will be announced on Tuesday. What are your thoughts?

Hope so, Will work in our favour tbh. You need to play what? 8 group games? And the chances of you actually getting through it are highly unlikely, So all it will cause is more injuries and fatigue will set in. Just gonna what we've had over the past few years, Going far in Europe isn't all that it's cracked up to be tbh. Causes more trouble than it's worth.

    Good Luck btw.

    How so?

Celtic are shite and would struggle to beat teams in League 2. Sion are far superior to Celtic, as proven the other night.

Scottish football will be Semi-Pro in 10 years time.

I'd actually rather see Celtic not being in it. From what we've seen so far in Europe, they would have struggled and had a hard time. The competition would have served as more of a distraction than anything else.

It would have also disguised the fundamental problems within Scottish football. The exit of the Scottish sides have shown how poor our game is, but Celtic being re-instated would cover up those problems.

Too far. Celtic have fallen a long way from where they used to be, but we could possibly cope in the Champions League. We are still much better than teams in League 2.

I support Greenock Morton, but I also quite like Man United and Celtic. I wouldn't describe myself as a big supporter of both of the bigger clubs, but I often refer to them as we anyway.

"If UEFA does not comply with Swiss law as required by its statutes, the gentlemen go to Libya- simple,” he taunted after today’s Europa League draw grouped his side with Athletico Madrid, Udinese and RenneS."

I know but I'd take the money and with the prospect of European football maybe we can attract a few of these transfers we desperately need. Good for the coefficient as well.

All depends on the decision on Tuesday.

Problem is, the co-efficient is only really helped if you can do well and win. I could only see us winning one or two games. We could come ahead of Rennes, but we would be outclassed by Atletico Madrid and Udinese, especially when playing against them away.

I fail to see how this goes in your favor. They will get a huge financial boost over you if they get into the EL even if they lose every game 8nil. If they fear injurys and tiredness they could just field a second team and give them experience against a big club.

8 European cup games must = ore than a million pounds in ticket profit surely ?
