Not scoring with 42 shots is not really the mark of a champion to be fair.

Chelsea winning this competition really is a miracle. The chances of Messi and Robben both missing their penalties to save Chelsea's skin must be below 1%, never mind all the times they were saved by the woodwork, and a victory on penalties, it's absolutely extraordinary. That's Cup football for you though, I think they were owed a bit of luck after what happened in 2005 anyway, they deserved to win it then.

Chelsea win on pens = pure luck
Bayern win on pens = deserved

    Your point is invalid.

    Your explanation is flawed.

When you go to penalties the rest of the game goes out of the window. How can Bayern deserve to win penalties and Chelsea be lucky to win them? It makes no sense.

Also I think Bayern "dominating" the game is exaggerating. Bayern didn't control possession as much as some might think. More chances, sure....but the scoreline says it all. Dominating is Chelsea beating QPR 6-1, not a 1-1 draw where Chelsea for most of the game kept Bayern out with good defending, then got back in the game when they went behind.

Bayern had close to 60% possession, around 4 times as many shots as Chelsea, 20 times more corners...

    Yeah, I'd say they dominated.

Dominating a game doesn't always necessarily mean you batter them.

They dominated Chelsea all game, you can dominate and not score. Just like you can be dominated and win.
