And there is plenty of Scottish people who abandon their local sides to follow one of the Glasgow clubs. In some cases (Alan) they abandon their whole nation to follow a foreign club.

I randomly picked one name from that list (Gordon Smith) Who is 57 btw and a quick search on Google shows that after leaving Rangers he went on to play for the mighty Brighton & Hove Albion, Man City who at the time were up and down between the prem and division 1 and then Oldham after leaving for Austria.

Boyd was piss poor, I think Thomson broke his leg. Middlesbrough are hardly a big club though..
