Did anyone actually say that Scottish football has been crap forever? Why are we looking at statistics from the 1930s and 1970s?

Considering St Mary's has always been an all seater stadium, and it's capacity is 32,568.Jelavic9|RFC wrote:Record home attendance 32,152 against West Ham United, 18 October 2011

Move to Southampton. The way I see it is I'm taking a step up in my career and playing for a better team. Also someone mentioned they would get relegated straight away in the EPL... Not likely tbh. Southampton look like an ambitious team and would use their funds to survive in the league (They only recently got like £15m for Chamberlain). You've then got teams like Wigan and Everton that show no ambition and are slowly fading away from the league season by season.
Ahly your point about getting more exposure at Celtic is true for better clubs to spot you, but then wouldn't you take the chance to move to Southampton considering they're a better team?

1,607 St. Johnstone Vs Aberdeen, thats not even lower than a Colchester attendance this season.

Obviously Southampton's record attendance will be smaller, they have a smaller ground?

Ahly took it off topic by mentioning Dalglish moving to Liverpool.

I think it's time we just put an end to this nonsense. It's as if people are acting as if Hooper plays for the Scottish Premier League, he plays for Celtic. He gets good money to play European football and play in one of the biggest derby games in world football, on nights like last week in front of 60,000 supporters. You don't have a clue down there about the passion that surrounds our club. It might not be one of our most glorious periods right now but the fact will always remain we are known all over the world.
Winners medals, trophies, European football playing for one of the most supported clubs in the world.
Or Southampton. You lot really don't have a clue. Completely deluded. The Championship is DIRE, just as dire as our league is. But nobody outside this country knows who Southampton are. It's just English supporters in their English football bubble who see nothing outside of it, and think it is the best place to play football no matter what.

Jela, I cannot get over how fucking stupid you are, why bring up our record attendance in a 32,500 seater stadium that was built in 2001?

Exactly, looking at stats then is all well and good but unfortunately we don't have access to time machines.

Pretty sure the rangers stat was from the 30's, where it was all standing, and St Mary's Stadium has been built for about 10 years and is an all seater

England's 2nd tiers final attracts more than the SPL's final.

So many factors to consider. Family, wages and another other million little things that all play a part in your decision. But just answering the question on face value and how you presented it. I'd choose Southampton every day of the week.

I don't think they are a better team. Even so, wouldn't Celtic pay you a higher wage? I have no connection to the two clubs and I don't think either is a good or ideal place to play (assuming I'm a talented individual). Honestly, I would just choose the team that is willing to pay more and the club that can provide me the better exposure.

11 pages of crap. We are now onto attendances from 300 years ago.

No one has said the Championship is the best place to play football. Just that it's better than the SPL. The quality of football is far superior.

Southampton's all time record attendance is not 32,000

Hampden, half the size of Wembley.
You know for a FACT, Celtic and Rangers fan base is over 10x more than any Championship club. Again James, your point is invalid.

Our record attendance of all time is about 40,000, in the Dell.Jelavic9|RFC wrote:Jordi wrote:Jela, I cannot get over how fucking stupid you are, why bring up our record attendance in a 32,500 seater stadium that was built in 2001?

Which became a 15,000 seater stadium.
Why are you bringing our attendances into it? It's blindingly obvious that we'll have less that you, considering our stadium is smaller.
