Kevin Keegan moved from 3rd Division Scunthorpe to 1st Division (top division back then) Liverpool and went onto win 3 league titles, 3 European titles and an FA Cup.
My point was that Celtic is a bigger club than Southampton and that playing well with Celtic or Rangers can get you a move to a better club. It's not a guarantee, but neither is performing well with Southampton. Do you disagree with that?
I agree Celtic are a bigger club than Southampton. I disagree playing with them can move you to a better club. Once you're in the Premier League you are automatically in a better position. There is more chance of getting to the PL with a Championship club than there is having a good run in Europe nowadays with Rangers or Celtic.

So would Egyptian clubs. I don't see the purpose of that hypothetical example though.

So wrong. Name me more than one player that has went on to a bigger club whilst playing well for Celtic or Rangers?
Southampton alone have Gareth Bale, Theo Walcott, Alex Chamberlain; all moved onto clubs bigger than Celtic and Rangers.

If Adam played for Rangers now, he'd be the best player in the SPL.

McGeady and Nakamura. Can you provide me an example of a Championship player that isn't a talented youngster going to a decent European side?

So what your trying to say is that Championship clubs are better at selling players than SPL clubs yet another reason why someone should chose Southampton over Celtic

Jelavic... Would rather have Yakubu.Jelavic9|RFC wrote:Lux wrote:
A lot of Rangers first team players would be good/average in the Championship at best.
Quite a lot were.....but they weren't good enough to move up a level so just thought that they'd settle for a poor league and Europe.
Jelavic
McGregor
Naismith
Davis
Wallace
Bocanegra
Goian
Edu
Alexander
McCulloch
Could all play in the Premier League.
McGregor... Robinson and even Bunn is better.
Naismith...Yakubu
Davis....Maybe if we lost Nzonzi but Petrovic is looking good.
Wallace...Olsson is better and we have Henley now so he would'nt get it.
Papac...No
Bocanegra...No
Goian...No
Edu....Nzonzi and Petrovic miles better.
Alexander....Robinson and even Bunn is better.
McCulloch (Possibly) See Davis.

Take Rangers and Celtic out of the SPL and League 1 is a much better league.

Course not, if you're gonna glory hunt you may as well pick one of the top clubs like they all do.BladeGunner wrote:Uncle John from Jamaica wrote:If the SPL is so great how come so many Scottish people support an English team as well?

Consistently participating in either the Champions League or the Europa League is somewhat special.
