False. My brother was born deaf, can talk nearly as good as a hearing person and is cleverer than me in terms of results in school.
This is him. And my arm

From my understanding, if you are born deaf, you are dumb as well. But people who develop deafness later in life (after learning to speak), are usually not dumb.
That's not true. If you're born deaf you have the same learning ability as other people. Its just that deaf people are harder to teach due to the communication boundary. Anyway its not true at all. When I first started my upper school there was a deaf guy in 6th form who could not hear at all or talk well (he was born without the proper ability to speak)but was considered the brightest kid in the school. He went on to accumulate multiple degree's including a masters degree in maths (considered one of the hardest) and now works for NASA last I heard. He was also on local television stations to inspire deaf people. Anyway the point is the guy was deaf but the complete opposite of dumb.

By dumb, Ahly meant not being able to speak, not being stupid

Re: John Terry shouts racist abuse?
I'm getting the idea that people are thinking I meant dumb as in stupid. Dumb means you can't speak properly.
