Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
Read that Lennon's torn his hamstring. So looks like he'll be out for a little while

Yeah it looked like he did. Hopefully Bale is back for Chelsea, Kaboul will come in for King, because he obviously can't do Thursday after Sunday. If he does I'll be the happiest but it's unlikely.

If you haven't got Bale and Lennon for Chelsea.
King should have been rested for Chelsea..

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
Bale should be fine, just got a knock in training, i'll be surprised if he doesnt start vs chelsea, huge blow losing lennon, our lack of natural wingers has been concerning me as we thrive off the pace out wide. Hopefully we'll try and sign another Winger in january, no idea whos possible though, arry was saying something about a 'special' signing, id love someone like Hulk, but I cant see it.
Also, sandro today

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
I'd be willing to throw Bale on the right and play Townsend against Chelsea. Remember Rose against Arsenal? Townsend deserves his shot, and actually Niko should've been brought on and not Pav today (despite him scoring the winner).

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
I was thinking bale on the right, modders on the left and sandro/parker in the middle. I hate the idea but i can see it happening, but for me bale always has to play on the left, hes not skillful enough to cut inside and his delivery with his right foot isnt good. No idea how we'll play, cant see rafa playing out wide after what hes said, probably be pienaar or something

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
Why not Rose on the left with Bale on the right and BAE behind at left-back? Bale can cut inside leaving Walker to overlap. Then he can help Walker out with defending against Sturridge.

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
meh id prefer bale-moric-parker-pienaar to rose-modric-parker-bale
hate playing bale on the right, has he had one notably good performance from that side?
is kranjcar still injured? he played on the right at the beginning of the season with lennon out

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
Niko is fit again, he was on the bench today but Harry chose to put Pav on instead of him for Lennon. Bale on the right works for Wales, he cuts in gets a shot off curl inwards into the top corner. I think it can work personally.

Wouldn't it be better, in the short term at least, to play Bale-Modric-Parker-van der Vaart with two strikers?

What about Walker on the right, and Kaboul at left back?

Why Kaboul and left back? I suppose Corluka could play behind Walker for at least this game and they'll double up on Sturridge.IIBentII39 wrote:What about Walker on the right, and Kaboul at left back?

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
Read some posts on others forums about us trying out a 3-5-1-1 style formation sort of like we did against Stoke
eg:
He'd never do it though. He'll most likely stick Bale on the right, with Sandro and Parker in the middle and Modric on the left again.
eg:
Friedel
Gallas King Kaboul
Walker ---- Sandro ---- Bale/BAE
Parker Modric
VdV
Adebayor

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
Bale should be fit for Chelsea, it's Lennon who'll definitely be missing. And I'd imagine King won't make it after playing yesterday. Kaboul's back though so our defense should be fine. It's more who do we play on the right.

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
Lennon's injury has definitely shown how thin we are there with quality. Be interesting to see if Harry will look for anyone in January for cover?!
Shame he is going to miss Chelsea too. Reckon him and Bale would have caused Chelsea no end of problems with their pace and direct runs.

He wouldn't do shit, cole has pace so his one trick is gone.

Yes, you're right, it's not as if limited wingers with pace have ever got to Cole before.

That's only because Valencia can hit a cross.

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
Lennon can hit a cross too, and Valencia's crossing had nothing to do with overall raping him, Lennon is a better winger and would rip the shit out of Cole.

Lennon's crossing is shit, and Coles handled him alright in the past. Only time he did anything was the year he scored against us.

Lennon's improved loads. His crossing is better, he cuts in a lot more now too to have shots.
So yeah he would have given Cole problems.....
