Interesting that Falcao may sacrifice Champions League football though. His wage will be massive as well.

I expected their owner to pocket that money and keep it for himself, saying they had an the next Torres coming through their youth ranks.

My mistake, I didn't realise I had stated I was willing to give him massive wages and a stupid deal.
Oh wait, I didn't.
This obsession with age needs to stop. Who gives a fuck if he's 32, you need experience.
Forgive me for not wanting a striker so shit last season and with an attitude so bad that his fans booed him every time he got subbed on or off.
Joe Cole mk II.
He'd be better than N'Gog no?
Get him on a years deal, no harm there.
I have higher aspirations than being happy with an improvement on N'Gog.
I'd rather sign no striker than Forlán.
Apologies for being realistic. In case you haven't noticed, we've not got any European football this season. Have finished outside of the Champions League places for the last two years and are predicted to miss out again.
Hint: That is why I said I'd rather sign NO STRIKER than Forlán.

So, let me get this straight.
Even on a one year deal, despite being an improvement on N'Gog, you wouldn't take him?

Does Pacheco play upfront, or on the left/right wing?

I think he's quite good just behind a main striker, like a deep lying forward.

You reckon you're going to sign one of the world's most famous strikers, an ex-United striker, and play him in the same role as what N'Gog has played? And you're only going to get him on a one year deal? And you think he'll accept that? You are living in some kind of dream.

Well, you're the supposed expert on this subject I guess.
I'd still prefer to improve the squad, even if it was short-term.

Forlan as a back-up striker would be utopia for us. Godin would just be magic.

As has been said, I doubt Forlan would be very happy with being a backup striker on a one-year deal. I don't imagine all Liverpool fans would take to him well either, considering he is a former Man United player.

Cristiano Ronaldo is a former Man United player. I'd be happy if he joined us.

I'd rather play Carroll. Unless the presence of Suarez transforms Forlan. But let's not forget that he was poor in his last Premiership spell. I though we were looking at Premiership proven players? I call bullshit on this.
Seriously; Benayoun, Forlan and Godin?

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
We clearly have different ideas about a back-up striker Dan. I'd prefer a younger striker with potential to grow rather than an older experienced striker who wouldn't be any use in the long term.

Unfortunately, there is no point in us going out and buying another young striker. We have Carroll. On top of that, our best young strikers at the club are 17/18. Not really old enough/developed enough to play a back-up role. Bring in an experienced striker for a year or two, and we'll see them given a chance to develop before being thrown into the role. Not to mention, he's experienced, which could help our younger strikers currently at the club.
12 in 30 for a team that went down. Not bad though.

Arsenal's Alex Song has been charged by the FA for violent conduct - will miss the match at the Emirates against Liverpool on Saturday. #LFC

Alex Song has no defence, so he will get a 3 game ban and will probably miss Arsenal's games against Liverpool, Man United, Swansea. #afc
Fabregas out, Nasri possibly out, Eboue out, Diaby out, Song out .. Gervinho out .. Wilshere out ..
We'll lose 2-1.
