I would like Albiol, I don't know about Mertesacker though

I like Shawcross, I know he's rash but I do rate him as a centreback. Think the problem with Mertesacker is he seems to lack any pace whatsoever.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
He was shit in the Euro 2008 if I remember rightly, although that probably doesnt count for much exept that he's older now, and he was slow back then as well

He's shit, trust me. I've explained this plenty of of times to people. He's tall and will probably win a lot of balls in the air but that's it. He's slow as fuck and is aging already. He's poor on the ground and very clumsy. Really overrated and really overpriced.

He's very good at reading the game, and obviously he's pretty strong and good at heading. Good tackler. But yea he's slow as fuck so you'd need someone to cover him. If he was played next to Carragher, you'd be fucked.
He's a gamble, but it could pay off and he's cheapish.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is considering a shock move for Celtic winger Paddy McCourt.
The Northern Ireland international hit the headlines last week with a stunning goal in his country’s 4-0 win over the Faroe Islands.
Liverpool had been monitoring the 27-year-old and their interest has been flushed out by the attention McCourt is now receiving from other clubs. He joined the Bhoys in 2008 but has struggled to hold down a starting spot in the SPL.
He has outrageous talent but his lack of consistency has held him back throughout his career.
Dalglish is aware of the damage he can do and is keen on adding his flair to the Reds squad.
McCourt would be an unlikely starter but is capable of coming off the bench and making an explosive impact.

Would like to see us go for the Ajax centre back, can't spell his name. Jan something. Don't know of his price range though.

Vertonghen. He's about as slow as Mertesacker. Well no a bit quicker. He'd cost more though. He's basically a slower Vermaelen, pretty much identical at everything else.

He'd only be able to play once every other month for you.Mr Leiva wrote:

No to slow defenders. We NEED to play a higher line. It's crucial.

Most interceptions in the German league, and more then anyone in the PL. He is good at reading the game, but can get caught out due to his pace. And he's a good tackler, obviously not great at sliding but otherwise quite good.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Remember Neil Sang?
He has just tweeted that the player, he was talking about few days ago was Yossi Benayoun. Interesting.
@SangyFootyAgent Neil Sang
The ex-player due to return is Yossi Benayoun Red men. It's still in the balance but if LFC say they want him he's coming here not Spurs!

You just want us to leave Cahill alone

And I would love Yossi back, I dunno if we need more Midfielders though.

I'd love it if Benayoun came back. For his ability, obviously. Not him.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
I've watched a lot of Bremen in the past few years. They(well used to be) my favourite German team. He's really not a good tackler because he's so clumsy. I don't know what you got this idea from, his interceptions are good because of his lanky legs. But his main point is his pace.. Strikers in the premier league will turn him so easy.arsenalap11 wrote:Jord wrote:Sorry but no.arsenalap11 wrote:He's very good at reading the game, and obviously he's pretty strong and .good at heading Good tackler.
