Oh wait, I've just realised he is. Never mind.

He might be a rash in the tackle at the moment, he times one wrong every so often (come on, everyone does) that'll just come with experience. He's got a fantastic tackle on him, his technique sliding and how he approaches it, is class.

It wouldn't be a bad thing if Flan were to take over the right back spot because Kelly can then play CB, wasn't that his original position?

Robinson's not got a bad slide tackle on him either.

If we couldn't sign anyone for, say, 5 years, what do you think our team could be?
I was thinking that
Reina
Kelly/Johnno - Skrtel - Agger - Robinson
Flanno' - Coady
Hendo' - Suarez - Sterling
Carroll

Of course it will come with experience, but right now he's not ready to start ahead of Kelly and will end up sent off sooner or later.
Possible that they'll both start anyway.

No sure to be honest. But he looks our most promising youth player along with Sterling.

Jord wrote:Really? What did you say exactly? I think he has everything about him bar the passing/vision side of the game(though I have seen him switch the ball quite a few times), but that will come. His tackling is scary, strikers will shit themselves.Dean wrote:Jord wrote:Maybe Kenny is thinking of developing Flanagan into a defensive midfield player?
Said this a couple of months ago. Me > Kenny
I can't remember exactly what I said, but I mentioned it in here, I said I thought Flanagan had all the makings of a top drawer defensive midfielder and that I'd thought he'd excel in the middle of the pitch. Asked anyone if they agreed, but noone did at the time.
Still think he can make a great full back too, he needs to improve his attacking game though as Jamie said.

You'll make at least one or two major signings/sales in the next few years. If Suarez continues to be as good as he was in his first 3 and a half months I can't imagine he'll still be there.

What about Wilson? You haven't given him a lot of chances so far, but as he improves, he will be closer to the first team, and in 5 years time I'd expect him to be better than Skrtel.

Not entirely Liverpool related, but Torres has apparently got an injury now. Got to feel for him tbh.

That's my worry. I can see him being one of those players who gets linked with big teams every window. Like Gerrard and Torres used to be. It's pretty important that we break into the top four and build on that each year. Players like him won't wait long.

Didn't look too bad. He's been played too much for too long, it's taking it's toll.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Our most promising youth players are our own. Don't want to turn this into a British v Foreign debate but the Foreign lads just don't seem to make it, for one reason or another. I bet the likes of Suso, Adjoran will just go the same way as Insua and Pacheco, I hope not, but it seems to be the case.
Flanagan, Robinson and Sterling will be the 3 that make it. All English, 2 of them Scousers. That's my prediction.

Suso is too good to take that direction imo.

Let's wait until some of the foreign players get a run in the first team.

Predicting how well youth players will do is a disaster, everyone looks like idiots when you look back and see how shit players are seen as the future of the club.
