You must remember that Clichy was playing in a much better team.

Clichy got lost a bit because we played an extremely high line, and was caught out, but in terms of speed, tacking, interceptions, short passing and a few other things he's top notch. His crossing is a bit poor, but that's mainly because he's not had to do it to a high standard at Arsenal due to the way we play. He has put in quite a few good crosses though.

To me those stats come across as:

Enrique is quite poor going forward but defensively reasonably solid when you consider the team he has around him aswell.

No. He isn't throwing anything of his own into the transfer. He's simply taking a pay-cut to his current Arsenal wage and the money from that pay-cut is going towards the transfer.

Seems alright to me

Looking at those stats Enrique is probably better at defending than going forward. 84% tackle success is good considering he played for Newcastle. Also if we do get him, not being the best going forward won't be much of an issue as we'll have Suarez or Downing on the left. I'd be happy if we got him.

Enrique will be as good for us as Arbeloa was. Reliable and possibly underappreciated.
