Just dropping my weekend dump of Eredivise.

Friday as said Twente lost 3 points with a stupid loss to Heracles Almelo

Saturday Ajax and AZ took 3 points from matches against NAC and Excelsior respectively, while VVV and Roda took 3 points each in their matches.

Sunday PSV and Feyenoord both took 3 points along with Heerenveen. Which leaves an odd picture in the table, with both Ajax and Twente out of the direct European spots on 5th and 6th respectively, with 6 and 8 points up to the leaders PSV and AZ with 45, in between are Heerenveen and Feyenoord with 40 points a pair. So we walk into an European week where the two leading teams along with Ajax and Twente are all participating in Europa League.

In what clearly is the biggest match for the 4 teams and probably the 2nd biggest of the first round (Porto v City i'd rate slightly higher) is Ajax and Manchester United, which i'll probably write a bit more about before i head down there on Thursday to my first live game at the Arena in a few years.

Meanwhile AZ face Anderlecht who last year got their asses handed to them by Ajax, Twente face Steaua Bucharest from Romania and PSV play in Turkey against Trabzonspor.

If it goes as team strength Ajax will probably have the hardest time with a well playing United team just coming of a victory against Liverpool, that paired with Ajax crappy fall and start to 2012 with injury upon injury it could just as easily end in a bloodbath, but i think the players will bring just that bit extra, it is not every day a match against United comes along, in fact as Sir Alex pointed out earlier today, the last meeting was in 1977

While both PSV and Twente are playing away they should be favorites if they are up to the task. PSV could go far in this tournament, they are a fairly experienced European side. AZ is a difficult side to measure and while i'd pick them as favorites they have been shaky in some of their European games.

On a goalscorer note, John Guidetti scored another Hat-trick for Feyenoord while Luuk De Jong scored 2 for Twente in their loss.

So home from Amsterdam and it's Eredivise Weekend again.

Heerenveen went to 3rd with a 1-0 victory over NAC because Feyenoord messed up and specially Guidetti. Not many expected Heerenveen to mix with the top teams but they are always good going forward, this year that has been more than enough for them and with Bas Dost staying at the club instead of having Ajax or any of the other top clubs pick him up they've been growing better and better nearly every round.

For Feyenoord's mess up we've got this. Guidetti had gotten a yellow card in the 57th minute... In the 76th this happens

The match ended 1-1 and they are 2 points behind Heerenveen on 4th place

The rest of the "top 7" (Including Vitesse as they should be higher with team they have tbh. ) are playing tomrrow, Ajax facing NEC at home, PSV away vs Groningen as well as AZ away against Utrecht and finally Vitesse vs Fc Twente, all in all some hard away matches for the top teams on Sunday and Ajax still have to be careful but if they play like they did against Manchester United with just the addition of actually being able to finish it shouldn't be an issue.

Next sunday has a big one with Feyenoord vs PSV which makes the video above even more interesting.

Start off the sunday with an upset as FC Groningen at home beat PSV 3-0, former Ajax youth talent Suk scored 2 goals in a team also fielding Liverpool target David Texeira. PSV's Manolev got 2 yellows and will miss next weeks game against Feyenoord.

Ajax v NEC and Fc Utrecht v AZ starting now.

Didn't really bring a weekend conclusion dump but can do now with some other news.

PSV AZ and Feyenoord slipped up which caused the top 6 to get more bunched together, there is now just 5 points between PSV in 1st and Ajax in 6th place. With AZ, Heerenveen, Twente and Feyenoord in between.

Today PSV finally got the contract with danish Mathias "Zanka" Jørgensen signed and he agreed to a 4 year deal from summer 2012. He'll be joining his old club mate from FCK Atiba Hutchinson along with rest of the PSV squad, some may know him from FM where he has/had quite a big potential, U-21 Euro or FCK's run in CL last year.

All the dutch Europa League teams play tomorrow

AZ Alkmaar has a 1-0 lead heading to Belgium against Anderlecht while PSV play at home with a 2-1 lead against Trabzonspor as well as Twente playing at home with a 1-0 lead against Steau Bucharest and finally there is Ajax who are down by 2 before playing against Manchester United.

I'd expect PSV and Twente to be favorites in their home games while I am not sure of AZ's strength away against Anderlecht who lead the Belgian league where they haven't lost 9 games in a row. Obviously Ajax will have the toughest time already having to make up 2 goals at Old Trafford but Nicolai Boilesen who came back for the last 25 minutes of the home game got a different injury and are out the next 2 weeks.

4 Danish players from the Eredivise was called up for the Denmark - Russia match in 7 days for the National team break, Simon Poulsen (AZ) Lasse Schöne (NEC) Christian Eriksen (Ajax) Mads Junker (Roda)

Nothing from the dutch side heading to england yet, i suppose thats tomorrow along with the English squad.

Quick EL sum up, All the dutch teams got positive results, but Ajax was the only one that didn't get a good enough result to go.. With that in mind on to the next round in the league before a national team day.

None of the top teams have played this week but one of the teams that should have been top, Vitesse lost Friday away to RKC Waalwijk. Nothing major happened Saturday for the table although VVV and Graafschap both grabbed victories against teams 8 spots higher than them.

Big games Sunday are AZ - Heerenveen and then an old classic, PSV v Feyenoord. Twente has a home game against ever random result Utrecht while Ajax play away against Excelsior (still lowest team).

Seems that my granddads birthday thing starts in the middle of the Ajax game but i think i can live with not watching all of the match against Excelsior, anything but a 2 goal + win is pretty bad. Should be home for the PSV - Feyenoord match though, that should be a good watch, PSV rather easily got through against EL while Feyenoord comes to Eindhoven without their starman Guidetti cause of his stupid mistake.

With the matches Sunday there is a chance that we finally can get out of that 6th spot if we don't mess up ourselves. However there is a possibility that even if we don't mess up we'll stay in the 6th spot (Feyenoord, Twente and Heerenveen win) which just means theres even shorter to the 1st spot, so that works too.

Eredivise Weekend dump, round 23 ! 11 to go

It seems that my hope for Ajax to go up further in the league didn't exactly go as planned, but with an Ajax win 1-4 against Excelsior away, with a goal by Özbiliz & Vertonghen and another 2 by Siem De Jong on assists from Eriksen, Vermeer saved a penalty and Anita made a complete blunder on a corner letting a ball pretty much just through his legs at the back post. I only got to watch the first 30 minutes and then the extended highlights though so not much else than the goals to say.

PSV bested Feyenoord without Guidetti 3-2 and are still leading, 5 points down to Ajax and now 2 to AZ who drew 3-3 with Heerenveen with a now rare two goals from Jozy Altidore. Twente took a 1-0 win at home against Utrecht with Luuk De Jong being the scorer. He now has 19 goals in the league 1 behind Bas Dost who scored once for Heerenveen today.

With the result Feyenoord drops down to 6th, Ajax at 5th is 5 points behind PSV and has 3 up to AZ with Twente and Heerenveen between them.

We weren't great though, Van Rhijn's cross was good but the penalty he caused after was a dive but there was contact and that gives a penalty like 9 out of 10 times in this league, really beginning to miss G VdW (Although he caused some stupid things too in fall season), and Boilesen obviously. Would be really nice with a solid defense, luckily the penalty was weak like the ones that were just displayed in the Carling Cup final.

The match was closer than the score displays i guess since Siem De Jong didn't score for 1-3 until the 86th and Vertonghen made it 4 in the 89th.

I think if we can get our defense back together, we can still win this. It should be possible, theres a month till the match against PSV. Before that is home games against Roda and RKC which should be wins, along with a semi tough away against ADO Den Haag. Then its straight on from there really. PSV has Twente next weekend.

Ah, okay. Well, my opinion wasn't really based on this game. I only saw the last half hour and we looked alright then. Of course we need better players and all, but I glad we've upped our game of late.

Certainly, but then again i think if we'd play against a team that wants to attack and score, unlike the united squad we faced Thursday, we'd get hammered. Koppers and Van Rhijn are good talents but theres a reason that they took a little longer to get debut while a player like Boilesen was debuted just after his 19th and looks well a good 10 or 20 times better than the option in Daley Blind. Also the lack of Enoh and Anita to be used in midfield haven't been great. Hence thats why i am somewhat happy the PSV game is still a month away, their attack looks very strong, if we are to be in the final title race we pretty much have to beat them, i don't see them slipping up like last year unless they advance in Europe League against Valencia.

4-1 Ajax, Hat-trick by Sulejmani's replacement Lorenzo Ebecilio. More to follow after the top match between PSV and Fc Twente, would definitly be worth a watch if it wasn't for that United v Tottenham game that starts in 45 :X

    Eredivise dump.

So yesterday i was talking todays matches while watching AZ, when one guy comes in with a simple comment "Twente will win big, Psv are bad" Sure i said, not giving that another thought, PSV had easily trashed their opponents in Europa League and was leading the league after winning against Feyenoord last weekend.

Clearly this guy was an oracle. At the end of 90 minutes in Eindhoven Philips Stadion, PSV 2 - 6 FC Twente. After 0-4 in first half Twente's Douglas got a Red Card with Toivonen bringing one back, but Twente would have none of it and scores another 2 while Toivonen had pecked another back between those. Clear that PSV need defensive improvements as it was an absolutely atrocious display in the entire match.

Else where Ajax was behind 0-1 in first half where Miralem Sulejmani(150th match for Ajax) had to go out with what looks like a knee injury, on came Lorenzo Ebicilio which proved to be a better sub than i had first expected, I've always found him way overrated since De Boer decided to bring him up to the first team back when Luis Suarez got his 7 match ban from biting. 2 Great long shots and a cool finish later Ajax are at 4-1 and Ebicilio has a hat-trick.

In the other top matches AZ won 3-1 with some difficulty at first against Heracles, Altidore scoring for 2-0. Feyenoord edged out Groningen 1-0 and made sure to not make a gap at the top where they are the drop off as Heerenveen drew in their though away match in Den Haag. Vitesse are completely out of the top but still has a chance for Europe as the Eredivise still hasn't removed the stupid playoff system for the last spot. (Even if there is a giant point gap from 4-6th to 7th)

In the bottom Excelsior and Graafschap seem isolated to compete for the relegation playoff spot while the other team goes directly down. Graafschap has a game in hand, which is against FC Twente who look like the strongest titel contenders again after Steve McClaren got them back on course

Who would've expect Ebecilio to come up with a hattrick after giving the ball away to let Roda score their goal. I think he's finally found it he's actually a lefty, scoring all three goals with his left!

From 5th to 1st (2nd ) unless AZ win or draw.

Both PSV and Twente lost 3-1 to NAC and NEC respectively, Feyenoord drew.

    Eredivise Dump...

I've been ill and pretty much only stayed awake all through the Ajax match, was sleeping when PSV was playing and they ended up losing a surprising 3-1 to NAC Breda.

Heerenveen had won 4-2 against Excelsior Saturday evening and are still looking solid in the top rarely slipping against the lower teams.

Ajax took a relatively easy 3 points with 3-0 victory over RKC who were never threatening, not a great performance by Ajax and Eriksen having one of his rare poor days where he had nothing to do with either of the goals and were subbed out. Vertonghen showing more offensive qualities with the first goal and another of his signature Roulette's was the highlight of a solid performance. Siem De Jong and Ebecilio scored the other 2.

At the same time Feyenoord drew with Utrecht 1-1 and FC Twente lost 3-1 to NEC, which left Ajax in first place before AZ's match with De Graafschap.

AZ's display wasn't as impressive as the thursday match against Udienese but they still took an easy 2-0 win and 3 points to secure them another week on the top spot.

The moment of the round has to go to AZ's Rasmus Elm for the first goal. He is one of the best freekick specialists around, and he certainly gave an unusual taste of that skill.

    He is.

If it will matter i don't know, they are trying to do an overhaul to the club to get it closer to its 70s glory roots, bringing Ajax back to the right level of football again, with no hoof balls (A lot of those today, was awful) and 100% total football
a couple of weeks ago it looked very very bad, the club lost a few and weren't playing like a top club should, always be in the game etc, but the weekend before the United game at home it has been much better and things are looking like another title again, which very well could mean more and better quality players in (Theo Janssen, doesn't fit, good induvidual in some bad matches in the fall but is not an Ajax man, Bulykin voiced opinion many times, too slow) which would make it interesting again for Eriksen to stay.

That and the opportunity to team up with another danish super talent (Ajax words not mine) Vikor Fischer who is just 17 turning 18 in the summer who could break into the team in the coming pre season or indeed during fall. That partnership could become legendary like late 70s danish players Søren Lerby(agent for Sneijder & and many other Ajax and international players) and Frank Arnesen (Sporting Director HSV, formerly same at PSV & Chelsea)

    In SHORT

He is, but with recent developments i now doubt it happening this summer

Out of no where, no they have been in the top for quite a while, but it is a big surprise that they are still there.

Legend Marco Van Basten took over as coach this year. They still get results but haven't had any big victories since and only played against AZ of the top clubs.

They have only 3 losses against PSV Ajax & Twente 5-1, 5-1 & 5-0, Ajax and Twente was early in the season which may give the impression they came from no where.

They have been very solid against the other teams in the league including AZ who they themselves smashed 5-1 then drew 3-3 with away.

That in mind they still have to face each of the top teams in the league starting with PSV next weekend, Ajax later then Twente & Feyenoord in the last two rounds. All huge games for a club that has never won the league, always been the more or less a feeder club to the top teams that could cause a few upsets in a season, until just looking it up now i would have thought it insane that they actually ended 2nd in 1999.

They have a chance, but a realistic one i wouldn't say. Ajax form is going up, AZ is having another up turn after a few out of character point drops (When Rasmus Elm plays, they are a force) Twente was on the up after that 6-2 smashing of the strangely weak PSV side of late.

On a different note, I think they have a legit chance of taking the Cup, they do face PSV twice in a row in the next 7 days which also includes a visit from Valencia.

A little early but then you look at the latest results and it seems reasonable. PSV Icon Cocu takes over along with Ernest Faber.

    Hopefully it won't help them Eredivise 11/12 Thread - Page 3 601554
