PSV has improved a lot under Cocu. Hope they continue to and maybe keep him next year. I'm liking him so far. Was a stupid decision for Rutten to announce he wouldn't be coming back and then to keep him on for the season.

Sure they have improved from where they were heading with Rutten, but they are not projecting what they did before Christmas, obviously. A mistake i think but Heerenveen look okay still and they are replacing their coach with Van Basten after this season, but i guess it is different when the replacement is ready half a year ahead.

Hard to say, this year is a strange one with the managerial situation. Certainly a need to correct the defensive woes if they're going to improve. Twente ran all over PSV. Back line has had some serious issues, and allowing too much space in midfield. Shape is a real problem, but that's also the Dutch league for you. Smile 4-3-3, just outscore your opponent.

BTW, PSV just awarded a pen. Eredivise 11/12 Thread - Page 5 957770

Although it is unlikely he will play a game in the danish league before his contract with PSV begins as he is still injured, he was made Captain for the FCK team in the summer only being 21 years old. Think he can help some of it, depending on how quickly he can fit into the squad.

Danish league isn't the Bundesliga Razz

The only place you could maybe have seen him was FCK in CL 2010/2011 as he was forced to step up when their Icelandic defender Solvi Ottesen got injured. And maybe for Denmark in the u-21 Euro, . The CL performances includes the FCK 1-1 Draw with FC Barcelona at home where he certainly was tested against the very best.

Fairly easy matches for the top teams all around, Ajax can jump ahead 3 points again tomorrow and anything less would be a HUGE upset. Heracles are quite strong at home but away they've only won 2 and drawn 3.

    ---------------------

Eriksen is now being rumored to Malaga where the owner(s) are apparently willing to spend at least £15m on him, i don't see him doing that and Ajax letting him go for so little but they could change his mind with a good plan and a steady supply of quality players, it might be good for him if he wants to go for Barcelona and they want him in the future, they wouldn't have to worry about how he'd fit with the league at least Rolling Eyes Personally i want to see him play besides Fischer in the next season, based on what he can do and what Fischer has shown at top youth level it could be very great.

Fischer had good a performance during the week for A1 after starting on the bench possibly because of him not feeling that great after his performance against Inter ( hard on himself imo). An assist to make it 2-2 and then a goal for 3-2 after the team had been behind 0-2

    Fischer at about 2:06

No Eriksen's contract is until June 2014, but there of course have been speculation about what will happen to him since summer 2011 really.

Because of that it would have to be a quality bid on him, and i doubt there would only be 1 bidder despite him having a somewhat shaky season recently. I don't think he'd say yes to Malaga unless Ajax gave him no other option(Huge bid), they are a money club now but don't really look like they know what they are gonna do with it.

We'll see, i think his performance during the Euros this summer can determine if he will be picked up by a bigger club or if they will wait, as is the case for many players though. Denmark faces the toughest group with Portugal, Germany & Netherlands.

The table has turned.. slightly, its round 28 of the Eredivise dump.

4 of the top team games were played Saturday and it was victories all around, PSV and Twente both got 2-0 wins, nothing impressive about those performances at home, Heerenveen and Feyenoord both got 3-1, Heerenveen got it away against Roda which could be considered a good performance with Roda's decent home record. All in all not too eventful and they all looked secure in their victories for most of their matches. The victories also meant that the bottom is unchanged and there is still a bit of a gap up to ADO on the other side of the relegation line.

Sunday brought some nice victories, starting off with NEC who is closing in on Vitesse for the Europa League play-off. Then it was Ajax turn to show the form they are in with a 6-0 trashing of a weak Heracles side the victory streak is now at 8, and with AZ's 2-2 draw away at Vitesse Ajax jump into first which the team last held in the 2nd round. AZ's draw also ment that the top is even closer since there is only 4 points between Ajax in 1st position and Heerenveen in 6th.

The highlights haven't begun to come up yet properly but they did a nice feature in the dutch motd kind of thing of what it is Eriksen does in matches where he may no be the most dangerous man, even when he isn't having the best match his passing is just something special and not always as appreciated as it should be, comparing him to M. Laudrup or Scholes on days like these isn't wrong in my opinion.

It was close last year for a long time, but this is insane, i remember a few years ago where it was very close as well and PSV won it on goal difference 50 to 49 against Ajax, and only because AZ lost on the last day else they would have taken it. But i don't think there has been 6 teams this close before. There have been closes finishes a lot in the league lately, pretty much only AZ's championship in 09 that wasn't decided on the last day.

So Christian Eriksen posted this on Twitter, i guess they had a speed test @ Ajax or something but he decided to once again mock Daley Blind. To make sense of it, Usain Bolt ran his Olympic Record at about 37 km/h.
The fun in this, Daley Blind is fairly slow specially for his position (LB/CB). Both in real life and in Fifa where he has a solid 68 Sprint speed rating Rolling Eyes

Jody Lukoki is one of the fastest in the (Fifa 12)game however, very close to Theo Walcott, but i've yet to see him live up to that speed in real life, he is the fastest in the team by their measurements but Vurnon Anita just seems faster on the pitch and so does Van Rhijn, who of course is faster in this test. Don't exactly know who participated in this, as Eriksen only included these 4, maybe he was embarrassed over his own ranking, maybe he is turning into Fabregas who they made fun of @ Arsenal for being "slow".

Some short news. AZ was knocked out of Europa League by a strong Valencia side, general consensus is that Valencia just showed the extra class it takes to be the 3rd CL spot in Spain behind the giants.

The KNVB Beker (Cup Tournament) final is being played tomorrow between PSV and Heracles Almelo in Feyenoord's De Kuip stadium.

Heracles have never been in the cup final, while PSV last was in it in 2006 and last won it in 2005 4-0 against Willem II. PSV has won the cup a total of 8 times and lost it 7.

If PSV wins and quality for Champions League through the league Heracles will gain entry into Europa League. Heracles would of course also gain it by winning the cup final. If PSV win and only get an Europe league through the Eredivise the other Europe League spot will be contested in the league instead of going to Heracles.

When its still this close at the end every week until the last round should be exciting, some big games in the midweek with AZ - Twente and Heerenveen - Ajax, PSV plays away against RKC who have been good recently, not an easy fixture. Feyenoord face Roda who also have good home stats (absolutely crap away, bottom of the table kind of thing)

Thought about Heracles making it to the final, 3 of their wins was at home, on their artificial pitch where they are very strong, but then they beat AZ away 2-4. I have been using Heracles quite a bit as an example of what is bad about sometimes having that and others using real grass, but they proved that they can play away when they really want to, not like last weekend where they tried for about 5 minutes against Ajax then folded and let us score 6 goals.

Well final is over, a well deserved 3-0 victory for PSV against a Heracles team that looked mostly like they were just happy to be in the final after having beaten AZ at home, being the only team the whole season to beat them at home.

PSV takes their first trophy since 2008 and first cup since 2006.

Big night in the Eredivise with top clubs playing all around including 2 big meetings

First AZ Alkmaar plays FC Twente, half way through that match Roda plays Feyenoord, RKC meet PSV Eindhoven (Breda takes on Heracles in a "meaningless" match both can go further away from relegation but shouldn't be a problem for either of the clubs who are 5 & 8 points clear at the moment) after AZ - Twente ends Heerenveen takes on Ajax. Normally at this point in the season a match between 1 and 6 wouldn't be that big of a thing, but seeing as the top is incredibly close Ajax can with a victory go 7 points clear of Heerenveen, while Heerenveen could kick it all open and go within 1 point of Ajax.

Results that could possibly shake the top quite a bit are ensured with the 29th round of Eredivise. And to top it off, Saturday, in just 3 days PSV face Alkmaar at home.

    -----------------------------------

In Ajax nieuws: Ajax made a Danish Dynamite edition of thier iMagazine, guest editeded by Nicolai Boilesen. http://en2012editie5.ajax-imag.nl

They've attempted to put some English in there but all the video interviews are in dutch and without subtitles, baffles me sometimes that they do not grasph how many international non-dutch speaking fans they have and specially the rapidly growing danish fanbase seeing as the 3 biggest danish talents are at the club and the 17 other danish internationals that have been at the club in the last 40 years in addition to our longest sitting national team coach.

If there is a part to see of the edition I'd have to go with http://en2012editie5.ajax-imag.nl/#/5/05-Danish-player-fact-sheet and click the top 10 video.

Altidore scored twice, he could hardly ask for more Razz!

Great result for Ajax chances, and the other 2 teams haven't scored yet so at the moment it looks good.

Opstelling Heerenveen: Vandebussche, Schmidt, Gouweleeuw, Zomer, Breuer, V. Elm, Kums, Djuricic, Narsingh, Dost, Assaid

Opstelling AJAX: Vermeer, v.Rhijn, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Blind, Eriksen, Anita, Janssen, Lukoki, De Jong, Aissati

De bank(Bench) van Ajax in Heerenveen: Verhoeven, Van der Wiel, Enoh, Sigthórsson, Ebecilio, Ooijer, Boerrigter. Aftrap is om 21:00 u.

    G. VdW is back, and so is Boerrigter, as well as Kolbeinn that made a short apperance against Heracles and scored 1. Jasper Cillesen not on the bench, don't know why Surprised
