Diego is the 3rd guy in his family to win the Copa America. His father and grandfather did it as well.

Good for him and his family. What's weird is they are all pretty much white but they speak Spanish. They don't look like they are from a Spanish country at all.

It was a legit comment, I just meant spanish speaking countries.

And yes I have seen Spain. In Uruguay they look more white than they do in Spain in general. Compare it to Mexico, where the majority have darker skin.

It's not a racist thing, I like Uruguay, I am just observing. They are the whitest latino country by leaps and bounds.

The final was everything I expected and I am glad Paraguay lost because I did not want them to win the cup with their BS football. Somehow I managed to get off work early to watch this live. Wish I knew a decent amount of Spanish since English coverage of this tournament was no where to be found.

In the States I believe that Univision and Galavision split the group stage and Univision showed the knockout stage. No English language coverage over here.

It's because most of the famous Argentines and Uruguayans are of higher class, therefore, of European descent. There was a lot of immigration to the Rio de la Plata region.

Who cares? It's the results that are making people take notice.
They've had better results than any other South American team in the last 2 major tournaments, not many teams in the world will go into a game with Uruguay feeling confident of a win anymore.

You'll find that only Bolivia in South America is anything like Mexico racially.

Plus like Rolo said, La Plata had alot of immigrants from Italy, Spain, Germany, Poland-Ukraine etc. The population is much more whiter in Argentina and Uruguay than the rest of South America.

Although Bolivia does have a higher ratio to Indigous population, it's the same case like in every Latin Colony, the higher class are lighter skin and lower class society are of darker skin.
