I see. Piszczek is probably a better attacker than defender.. he usually has a centerback covering him when he goes forward. If Dortmund's midfield and attack wasn't as productive as usual than I can see Piszczek having a more average game.

Important lesson for us in the NT really, especially considering our defense is way worse than Dortmund's.

Poland has a good attack, but they are going nowhere without a good defence.

Are there any good polish defenders at the moment?Zewlakow was good.

Damien Perquis is a Cb starting in Ligue 1 for the last few seasons.

We recently nationalized him. Other than Perquis, we have NO OTHER centerback competent enough for the EURO. Jodlowiec is the best experienced Polish Ekstraklasa defender and I expect him to be called up for the EURO, as will Glowacki who is probably the most experienced Polish defender abroad, starter for Trabzonspor... BUT.. Glowacki is a fucking train wreck in each and every game he has played in the last year. facepalm

I swear, Glowacki must have a record for international own goals.

Beyond that, we have Wojtkowiak playing for us recently, but he is a RIGHT BACK, not a Center Back... He is actually a good defender, but when he plays it is really really obvious he is being played out of position, and it cost us the game against France. We however, have two good sorta young Ekstraklasa defenders in Jaroslaw Fojut and Sebastian Madera, whom I think both are capable of being called up, but Smuda never has faith in young players, not at Zagielbie Lubin, not at Lech Poznan, and not in the Polish NT. Dry Smile

Other than that, let's just hope Glik isn't called up. Laughing

The idiots in Russia has thrown a flare on the field and the ref has called the players off the field and the match is currently suspended.

I should have done this previously but better late than never. I will compare teams based off their domestic form.

    Lyon (12-3-9) 5th v APOEL (13-4-4) 3rd
    Napoli (9-10-5) 6th v Chelsea (12-7-6) 5th
    Milan (15-5-4) 1st v Arsenal (13-4-8 ) 4th
    Basel (11-7-2) 1st v Bayern Munich (14-3-5) 3rd
    Bayer Leverkusen (9-7-6) 6th v Barcelona (15-6-2) 2nd
    CSKA Moscow (16-11-5) 2nd v Real Madrid (20-1-2) 1st
    Zenit St. Petersburg (18-11-3) 1st v Benfica (15-3-1) 1st
    Marseille (10-9-4) 4th v Inter (11-3-10) 7th

Interesting, Zenit and Benfica the only matchup with 2x 1st placed teams, and imo that was the most entertaining match so far. 3-2, odd and fantastic goals. As a match better than AC Milan v Arsenal as that was just one sided.

-10 -15 vs a team from spain, yea anything can happen, Benfica coped fine the other week but could easily have been worse with that crazy cold in Russia, its borderline unhealthy.
