Re: Tour de France 2011
www.cyclingfans.com always has 3 or 4 Eurosport streams, I've watched the whole tour on streams from there so far.

Contador looks strong again. His attacks really gave the Schlecks/Basso/Voeckler problems. The next stages will be really good. Right now it looks good for Evans.

Yeah, that stage was more interesting than I was expecting. Evans is looking strong.

Exciting stage today, that final descent was a bit hairy, few people over-running the corners.

Re: Tour de France 2011
3 HC climbs tomorrow, will be infront of TV or in the sun with the radio all day for sure. Missed the last part of the stage today cause of going to a football match, but damn those norwegians are putting on a show, 4 stages between 2 possible riders and 7 days in yellow.

Re: Tour de France 2011
Those Norwegeans are doing great, unlike their Scandinavian brothers (the Danes haven't been good, IMO, except for Lars Bak who has been a great helper for Cavendish).
We're in for one hell of a race tomorrow. Col Agnel, Col d'Iozard and finish on Galibier. The problem about Galibier is that it's a really long climb, so attacking on Iozard would be a huge bet.

Re: Tour de France 2011
Yeah, two wins each for Bosen-Hagen and Thor is quality. They realised they couldn't compete with Cav in sprints so just went for it in the mountains.
Andy Schleck is over 3 mins ahead of the yellow jersey group now!

Brave ride from Andy, would like to see him get to the finish and get the yellow jersey.

Same, needs to limit his losses to about 30 seconds (as in from 3:08)
Contador is going here

Re: Tour de France 2011
So Schleck wins. He needs 2:37 to get in yellow though so I dunno if he'll hold on.

What a ride from Tommy!
Stays in yellow by about 20 seconds.

Great ride from Voeckler. And good effort from Evans as well, dropping Contador. Contador's tour is over.

Re: Tour de France 2011
I still think Cadel will win it. If he stays with the others tomorrow he'll easily gain that 1 minute over the time trial.

Re: Tour de France 2011
Yep, if Evans gets through tomorrow he'll be favourite.
Will be interesting to see if there are any DQ'd riders due to time limits. Cav went out on the first climb.

Re: Tour de France 2011
Yeah, that's the only concern now.
There's 12 riders in the group though including some big names so I really hope not.

I know James Richardson is more of a football man, but I like his presenting the Tour on Eurosport. Does a good job.

Re: Tour de France 2011
Tactically perfect by Leopard-Trek and a complete class performance from Andy. Today, I can just say, well done: Both the team and especially Andy on this point. Amazing ride he pulled off.
It seems to be between Voeckler, Andy, Frank and Evans to win this race now.
Cavendish lost 20 points for coming in after the time limit.

Did Gilbert too?
It's just between Cav and Rojas now then.

Re: Tour de France 2011
86 riders didn't make the time limit but they of course get to ride on... The time limit rules really need to be relative to the stage, only 30 something mins on a 6 hour stage with 3 HC climbs, that is nuts.

Re: Tour de France 2011
I think the time limit is worked out as a certain percentage of the winners time.Muhkoo wrote:86 riders didn't make the time limit but they of course get to ride on... And yes, Cav, Rojas and Gilbert all lost points so that is neutralized as well

Re: Tour de France 2011
Yes it is, and the % is higher on stages with mountain climbs, but something in that equation is wrong when you get the same time limit on a 6 hour stage as you do on 3.5-4 hour stage. I am not entirely sure how it works but 35 mins is far from enough on a stage like the one today, 200.5 km and 3 HC climbs... It's probably gonna be just as bad or worse tomorrow though, as the stage is much shorter in both length and time expected.
