Cavendish to go in the Yellow jersey and give HTC the best starting position for the team trial tomorrow? Of course.

    Probably. I'd love it.

Big crash about 10k from the finish. Astana rider colliding with a spectator and therefore knocking down about 40 riders. Hope Cav didn't get caught in there

What an odd stage Laughing Philippe Gilbert takes the stage and was favourite to do so. Him and Cancellara broke away but Fab seemed not to want to do anything. Was too steep a finish for the sprinters.

That it was Laughing, provided a good finish though, a lot of the big names finishing at the back good time for Evans who finished second.

Contador lost 74 seconds against most of the favorites and 77 against Evans. (Not counting Gilbert here - he can't do anything in the GC).

Only had himself to blame IMO. Gotta play by the rules in pro cycling.

Funny how that doesn't apply to DCU and UCI.

Hushovd in Yellow after a superb Garmin ride. It really does look spectacular when the good time trial teams perform on these days, big difference watching the top 5 vs a team like Cofidis or Euskatel, the riders work hard and as a unit.

Good for Contador that he didn't lose that much, Saxo Bank work horses did a good job. Although loss of time were limited today Contador has a lot of time to make up for, this time he can't count on a team stupidly dragging the leading rider out of the race. I don't think Andy really will drop that much time to a Contador break away. Hope Cadel Evans can play a role too, just have to not break bones and such and it should be alright.

So 'The Thunder' is in yellow after Garmin win the stage. Ahh well at least Sky looked strong and all the big riders are sitting pretty in comparison with Contador!

Quite spectacular having the Yellow Jersey as a lead out man, maybe this might finally be Tyler Farrar's year.

I havent hit anything right so far in predictions but i will try every day. I think Gilbert will win, but Cadel Evans will take the yellow tomorrow as i think the ride up to the finish will be too fast and steep for Thor.

Cadel Evans won today, but didn't take the jersey. "Househead" still wears it.

GC, stage results and so on have been put into the OP

A nervous stage today, with a lot of minor crashes. Janez Brajkovic and Christophe Kern have left the race. A motorcyclist/cameraman duo has been thrown out of the tour too, for crashing Nicki Sørensen.

Tomorrow is a mid-level mountain stage, with a finish on a catagory 3 climb, with a catagory 2 climb before that. It is one of those stages that is perfect for a breakaway but doubt that the favorites will show much. Don't think that Thor Hushovd will be in the yellow at the end of the stage tomorrow, it is a harder stage than the 4th where he kept it despite the climb.

Hope the crashes come to an end finally, terrible for the race to lose Wiggins, and what it looks like Chris Horner as well and ofc Levi Leipheimer who lost a lot of time. Bad day for Radioshack and Sky. Although Sky could possibly still take some sprint finish stages.

Exciting finish, good to see the GC contenders flexing their muscles a little at the end. Good job from Hushovd to keep himself in yellow too, even though it is only by one second Laughing

It's been a tiny amount of seconds since the Team Time Trial on stage 2 as he took it because of his team winning, for a while he was on 0 seconds with David Millar and 4 down to Cadel Evans. I think it went down to 1 second on the 4th stage where Cadel Evans just won by 3 seconds down to him

He is sort of defying gravity with his size, but the GC riders aren't trying to tear the main group apart yet and he can use that to just sit in the middle all day.

Ouch this is bad Neutral So many big names out already, Van Den Broeck's must've been bad because they didn't even let cameras near him and Vino was clearly in agony.

Good of the peloton to wait for them, how slow must they be going if Cav managed to catch them?!
