What's Pro Cycling Manager 2011?
Sky were diabolical yesterday, couldn't recover from Arvensen's crash early on then turned it round for Sutton to win the sprint today
PCM is a manager game, like FM. Some teams are not licensed (Garmin, Leopard-Trek, BMC, Omega-Pharma Lotto, Katusha and some of the smaller teams), which means that the riders don't quite have their real name (usually just one vovel in the last name changed, for example Hashovd and Schlick). It's actually quite good, except that the AI makes some rather stupid mistakes, and time trials can become really easy, if there's a mountain or some hills involved.
Example of easy time trials:
(note that on any stage, a level for the day is given to the rider. Rolland, who somehow was on a "free transfer" in the beginning of season 1, had a really bad day(-4). Porte didn't have that good a day either (-2). Note that Contador's day is average (0), while Rasmussen's day was a +2, but he didn't give the full effort. Larsson had a +4). Scale for how good a rider's day is goes from -5 to +5, and only really matters on time trials.

Re: Tour de France 2011
Got the Vuelta on Eurosport here, but I guess it's different in your place.
Isn't the Tour de France game the same as PCM on the PC ?

Re: Tour de France 2011
I won't lie, I don't understand either of these games
Anyway, what a fantastic Vuelta for Brits so far! 1st and 2nd place in Wiggins AND Froome.
I'm hoping Wiggo can win this now and I'd fully expect him to at least get on the podium.

Re: Tour de France 2011
They really should have treated Froome better about the day the got Wiggins to take the lead. Having the leader do that kind of work for no fucking reason, since nobody were attacking, just isn't right. (Had they needed to kick some ass at that point, Froome would probably have been the right man to pull the pack, but he seems to be on better form.

'That Aussie guy' won Le Tour de France but that was months ago, La Vuelta de Espana is on at the moment.
The Aussie guy is Cadel evans by the way.

Re: Tour de France 2011
Quality stage today. Full marks to Froome for winning the stage and somehow outriding his team-mate over the Vuelta so far. Full marks to Cobo as well for getting back onto Froome's wheel at the end.
Something fishy about Cobo I think though, he's been around for years and never done anything and then now that he's ageing he suddenly comes good

Not really, you control one rider a stage (you 'drive' him like you would a car)but you can tell your team mates to sprint/take relays/protect you etc. Also it is only the TDF...

Re: Tour de France 2011
Cavendish joins Team Sky. To be expected.
Hopefully Bernie and Renshaw go with him.
EDIT: So Eisel has done, think he's the more important of the two especially as he now rooms with Cav. Would be nice if Renshaw joined too though.

That guy is more and more impressive.. supposedly she is 4 months in which means that the deed was done during the Tour... Green Jersey and making a baby. He is the true champion of the world.

4 months?! That's much further in than I expected. If that's the case then he is bloody impressive

Re: Tour de France 2011
Wiggins won the Paris-Nice yesterday which is probably the greatest win of his career so far. When I saw the time Westra's time in the TT I didn't think he'd manage it but somehow he managed to produce the fastest time in history to take the win.

Wiggins is in great form by the sounds of it then. Bodes well for the olympics.

Re: Tour de France 2011
Yup, and Le Tour, although I don't realistically think he can win that.
Any chance you could change the name of this thread to the cycling thread?
