Capello isn't the problem with England really, he's doing the best job he can. Can't say I really care about him leaving though, because I don't care about England in general.

How can you not care about your national team?Zzonked wrote:Capello isn't the problem with England really, he's doing the best job he can. Can't say I really care about him leaving though, because I don't care about England in general.
There are too many people with that attitude at the moment. Fuck you all.

I couldn't give a shit. Club waaaay before country.
When we get to the Euro's I'll be a little bit more interested, but I tend to only celebrate a goal if a Liverpool player scores it ,

Because the whole national set-up is a farce and the majority of fans are clueless and the media are cunts.

I've never really had interest in the England national team. I don't like how there's a frenzy every time anything happens ever, which is stirred up by the media. Plus I've never really been to any England games so I don't feel any connection to the team. I'll watch England, vaguely hope they do well and even cheer for them if I'm at a party or something, but I don't think I'll ever really care that much. Don't think International football is for me.

Ok. Well the national set-up is a farce and always has been. Creating pointless friendlies during the season, meaning players withdraw, are pointless. As well as managers not having the balls to stand up to the managers of the clubs. As for youth development, using older players in youth tournaments is stupid and affects the development of other players. The media in general are cunts, the witch-hunt against foreign managers is disgraceful and borders xenophobia. As for the fans, just looking at the number that want Capello removed as managed (probably because he is Italian) just proves how clueless they are. Fans talking about players who are and aren't good enough as if they are Jose fucking Mourinho (the saviour of our World Cup was Joe fucking Cole apparently). Not to mention the constant booing of the team if they are not 35-0 up at half-time against Brazil.

I don't think England's next manager has to be English per se, but I do think he should be able to speak English

Yeah, i agree with that.
The worst part is most of the fans and the media thinking that Fabio Capello is some sort of clueless buffoon, and 'Arry meltface the footbowl gaffer becoming the next England manager will be like the second coming of Jesus.

Until he gets in there and England still doesn't succeed, at which point they will all turn on 'Arry and claim that they knew he was the wrong choice all along.

Re: Inter interested in Capello
How are teams supposed to get any rhythm, balance, and cohesion without friendlies, people swear they are the will of the devil but complain when their team looks shit when it matters.

Because they aren't used like that. The reserves are stuck in. Sven used to make 12 changes a game.

Re: Inter interested in Capello
England plays a lot of friendlies but they still don't have rhythm, balance or cohesion.
I think a manager who they can speak their language would go a longer way towards creating rhythm, balance and cohesion.

Nobody can speak Rooney's language, so that point is irrelevant mate.

Re: Inter interested in Capello
Language is overrated, Capello has spoken thousands of words to these dudes, I'm sure they can understand him. He calls up the players who are available, players on form (Parker etc.) young players (Jarvis, Henderson) and the best players (Rio, Hart, etc.) they need to go to the camps (so many drop off due to injury it's not even funny) and play the damn games. I don't know how you change it, maybe it's because this generation is just unpatriotic and/or lazy, but players like Wilshere seem to like playing for the NT.

Yep, he loved it so much, he really fought for his place in the under-21 tournament.

Re: Inter interested in Capello
He seemed up for it in the months leading up to the tournament, I rarely take quotes to heart but his general sense seemed like he was going to play, I'd have to assume that Arsenal pressured him into not going, which in itself is another problem.

Capello would be brilliant for Inter, also don't see why some English want him gone...it's really not his fault for most of England's weak performances.

Wenger told him no yet he insisted he should still go, in the end the Phyiso's sent a medical report of his fitness to the England team which they realised was poor. What do you know

Rubbish. He was fit enough to end the season with Arsenal.

Alright, so that leaves us with the blasphemous theory I always come back to: England just aren't as good as England think they are.

Re: Inter interested in Capello
Like I said, he could've just been feeding the media, but he seemed like he wanted to go, Arsenal obviously told him otherwise, then Pearce didn't even call him (right? ). Obviously Wilshere takes some blame, but it's an institutional thing; comparing Spain to England is dumb, but I don't remembering reading much backlash from clubs over Juan Mata and Javi going to the U-21s.
