"Definitely there are players [coming through. Josh McEachran is a great player. I hope next year he can break into the
England team, like I did this year. If there is one holding, and me and
him there. He's still young, so am I, but that would be a good midfield
    for England.

so if i understand this correct, he is saying, i do not want to play with gerrard and lampard anymore

i only want mceachran and someone else to sit behind us

Yes, stuff Gerrard and Lampard. Get someone for that holding role and they'll dominate the midfield. Fuck it stick Phil Jones behind em
    Jones

    Shelvey>Rodwell.

Rodwell is overhyped. He's been piss poor.

    Shelvey has shown more potential.

You don't really need an out an out defensive midfielder. Both Shelvey and Wilshire have defensive qualities.

Not a fan of Rodwell, used to be good and looked promising but when watching Everton games really he does fuck all.. he's obviously got some talent but seriously he looks worse than he was 12 months ago, which is a worrying sign and he should be nowhere near the England team at the moment.

This is not really in response to any one in particular.

You know it's bad when England's future may rest on Shelvey and Rodwell.

Sometimes it takes the smallest amount of time to take that step up......but Rodwell hasn't really lived up to expectation, and Shelvey has no expectation....and frankly he's not done much to raise it either.

Shouldn't have left Charlton at such a young age. At the very least, should've gone to a Championship team where he might've gotten some first team football because I'm not even sure he'd be a stand out player in the Championship now.

Did Frimpong commit to Ghana yet scratch
Anyway, don't see this massive potential of Shelvey personally sorry.
McEachren/Wilshere combo will be the future midfield two with someone sat behind them imo probably Rodwell.
Few more coming through aswell like Henderson

I disagree, he's shown a good passing quality in the small amount of time I've seen him..

Against Fulham he played a delicious ball for Suarez, yeah even Gibson has made a nice pass or two this season but Shelvey does look talented.

We'll have to wait and see.

Shelvey shouldn't be anywhere near the squad.

Rodwell...not really good enough yet....it'd just be like Jordan Henderson vs France.....

Would rather hold onto veterans for now.

Shelvey scores a couple of bangers and strings a few good passes, now he's Gerrard 2.0

Don't buy it yet, Denilson did the same and look where he is

at this point its stupid to have gerrard/lampard anywhere near the squad, by the time the next WC rolls around they will be too old and they've never played well together. What I'm trying to say is at this point anyone > Gerrard/Lampard, both should retire from England.
