Your Earliest Football Memory
Mine is when I was six. I remember watching Ronaldo playing for Brazil in a friendly. It was the day I fell in love with football.

Re: Your Earliest Football Memory
I can't remember my earliest football memory, but it probably would have been Robbie Fowler's drug celebration...
The day I fell in love with football was Liverpool's 2-2 draw with Newcastle.

Re: Your Earliest Football Memory
It's funny because my first memory of football was 96, I was only about 4/5, I remember United v Newcastle.. and obviously then I wasn't as interested by my dad was watching it and I remember him telling me about it.
Bit weird, Cantona scored though, but I don't remember all football from that time if you get me, just got that memory in me.

Re: Your Earliest Football Memory
I didn't really like football all that much as a small child.
So I think when I was 10 or something waking up 5 in the morning to watch Poland in 2002 world cup with my dad.

Re: Your Earliest Football Memory
Probably the first proper World cup I watched which would be 98 since England didn't qualify in 94.
England Argentina game with Owens goal and Beckhams
Oh,and Zidane especially in the final

I seem to remember Owen's goal against Argentina in 98, but apart from that, probably the 2002 World Cup. And I remember my first 3 Burscough games towards the end of the 01/02 season.

Re: Your Earliest Football Memory
I remember the World Cup 2002 so well. Was in year 7 at school and it was shown on a big screen with a projector in the assembly hall. I was so gutted after the Brazil game. Kept my England shirt on all day.

One of my main memories from a long time ago is Beckham getting sent off and everyone hating him.

How is it possible to remember a goal from when you were three years old?
I can't even remember BEING three.

Re: Your Earliest Football Memory
I remember the USA was really good in 2002 world cup and beat teams like Portugal and Mexico and then got ripped off by a German handball. I didn't know exactly how they won or how big a deal it was. I just remember Landon Donovan draped in an american flag after stupid German Frings handballed on the line and didn't get called for it.
Never really shook it off to be honest, we haven't been that good since and we should've been into the semi-final if we didnt get ripped off, a real shame, always comes to mind when I watch US soccer.

Re: Your Earliest Football Memory
I remember in 03/04 knowing Celtic were in the UEFA Cup and top of the league. I remember telling a Rangers fan at school that we were top of the UEFA Cup. I asked my dad if they were top of the UEFA Cup, and he had to explain it to me. I also remember asking why weren't Real Madrid in the UEFA Cup if they were do good, so he also had to explain that they were in the Champions League.
