I think it's time for Wenger to move on or take a different role at Arsenal. I guess it all depends on what Arsenal fans want. Are they happy with a top 4 finish every season and an occasional cup final appearance with stable finances. Or do they want to win a title for a change while increasing their leverage some?

Unlike Chelsea and Manchester City, Arsenal don't need radical changes in their team to make them successful. They already have an amazing base. I'm pretty sure they can afford 2 or 3 world class players that will make that big impact on the team.

Nope he should buy his club a good Goalkeeper or two and a couple of top class defenders.

Why should he move on if he's managed to make such a good team that needs minimal changes?

This is laughable. People are making a big deal out of nothing. WE ARE 2ND in the league for fuck sake and people are considering that a failure. NO ONE expected Arsenal to win the league this year and we are still in the running for the title. Why the hell would Wenger step down and become director of anything when he has complete control as it is! I would still love to see Hill-Wood and the board hire someone to do what David Dein did, but only if they are on the same page as Dein and Wenger used to be when he was at the club.

Anyone that is ready to give up on Arsene or Arsenal for that matter should just go kill themselves.

Because he refuses to make those minimal changes. Neutral

If he is willing to spend big on 2 or 3 world class players, then fine. But years go by and Arsenal aren't winning anything under the current strategy.

Even refusing to make minimal changes doesn't mean he should walk away that would be foolish.

People have to realize it falls on more than just Arsene Wenger when it comes to winning titles. Players have to step up also, but when someone doesn't go right then suddenly its all Arsene's fault. Prior to the week we lost the Carling Cup, got knocked out of the FA Cup and Champion's League, people were all on his dick. Then we get knocked out and now people want to question if he should step down.

    Utter foolishness.

I wasn't one of those people who were praising him a few weeks ago. I knew Arsenal would lose against Barcelona, lose the league, and maybe win the Carling Cup. Even if they won the Carling Cup, it wouldn't change my mind.

It's no use living in the past. For example, Shehata managed so many great achievements with the Egyptian National Team, but we haven't won a single game in the Africa Cup qualifying match. He might be the greatest manager in our history, but everyone wants him to be sacked now.

When managers remain at a club for far too long, they rarely maintain that success or improve on it. SAF is the only exception.

    I agree with you.
He has done an amazing job so far, although it becomes frustrating sometimes when he doesn't change his ways but the time that Wenger is suppose to step down isn't in yet.

Luke, kill yourself for making this thread. Just because Arsenal aren't plastic like Chelsea having to buy success. It's a long term plan which is taking longer than expected. Wenger has been a bit stubborn in some situations but saying he should be sacked is just a joke. That's like your mum leaving your dad after such great sex for 5 years but now he can't get it up for a few months. She should stick by him for that great sex again. He'll eventually get through the problems because he's so great then she'll be cumming again and everyone will be happy.

Well Wenger should not step down or be sacked because Arsenal are overachieving their asses off this season. I would hard call Ferguson the only exception. Ferguson has basically always had a plethora of talent at his disposal or a massive amount of cash.

In hindsight anyone can look back and say they knew this or that. There are still plenty of games left to go so only time will tell if we end up capturing the league.

Gabriela wrote:I agree with you. He has done an amazing job so far, although it becomes frustrating sometimes when he doesn't change his ways but the time that Wenger is suppose to step down isn't in yet.

I've been frustrated with his stubborn ways for years, but it's Arsene and he won't change until he leaves the club or the club fires him. If he would only go back to what earned him the nickname of "Le Professeur" threads like this wouldn't even be created.

Any realistic Arsenal supporter did not expect them to win the Champion's League this season. Two seasons ago I did say that 2009-10 would be our year in the PL and 2010-11 would be our year in the CL, but once the season started and I saw how we were lacking in quality compared to other teams I didn't think we would win the CL, but I did expect to be one of the final 8 teams.

So Wenger should go because the PLAYERS played like absolute ass against Blackburn and showed now heart of conviction? Sure he is responsible for picking the team and that is the same team that has gotten us to 2nd in the league, but suddenly he should go because they sucked ass! Yeah that's some sound logic you have there. He didn't know what to say just like anyone that watched the match didn't know what to say. It was pathetic.

    No.

It'd be fucking madness on Arsenal's part if they sacked him. And he won't walk away and the Arsenal board wouldn't dare sack him, he's a big big part of the club. Runs the thing, they wouldn't dare question his position.

And rightly so, he shouldn't be sacked. Arsenal would go backwards in my opinion.
