Arsenal are in the Premier League. A question about 'Glory Hunting' - Page 3 499859

    Yeah, my bad.

It's just annoying that you think because you support your local club that you're better. I support my local club but I don't go on about it. Let people do what they're doing.

Well yes, I would say I am a better supporter than the ones that sit at home watching free steams and never go to games. A question about 'Glory Hunting' - Page 3 499859

Some people do go to games, it's expensive you know. An Arsenal home season ticket is £1300. I only go to away games but I'm still spending around £3000 a year. If I went to every single game I'd be spending £4300 a year, if it wasn't for my dad having to pay half my rent A question about 'Glory Hunting' - Page 3 599439 I would only be able to go to like 4 games a season.

You make the effort to go to games. You'd still be going to 4 games aseason. Most don't even go to 1.

Step out of the Arsenal shoes for a second. Imagine you supported a smaller club and went to every home game and majority of away games. Despite this you still get called no better then the average glory hunter. Would you be happy about that?

My most local club (before my local team was founded) was Brisbane, they are currently top of the ladder, hypothetically if my team had never been founded by your logic I'd be a glory hunter, for ther record Brisbane is a days drive away and a two hour flight from my town. Glory hunter implies that people will switch the club they support depending on who is winning at the time. In reality, nobody does this.

What actually happens is they just pick the team who are doing well at the time, and stick with them. Sadly for most people they got into football at the time Man U were dominating and sadly they are still a top team. I would love it if Man U 'did a Leeds' in my lifetime, because most Man U fans have known nothing but total success, and they are devastated if they lose one match because they have come to expect the best. I would be really interested to see how the fans coped with relegation, and having to take a trip to watch a game away at a dilapidated stadium on a rainy Tuesday night rather than just sitting in their comfy PC chairs and finding an endless number of streams (mind you, they still wouldn't go to the games I bet. Laughing)

We're second cheapest in the league though, behind Blackburn.

It's fucking expensive to go and watch games. If you love your club, and don't stop supporting them, you aren't a glory hunter IMO.

I do support my local team, I'm just saying, read my previous post, supporting the "most local team" doesn't work in countries like Australia and USA, its no different to supporting a team on the other side of the world.

Well, I know how it is. My friend supports AFC Wimbledon and goes to every game but that doesn't make him better. I agree it is annoying having United fans from Cornwall and shit like that but it's life and you should just get on with it. People support teams like that because they have the exciting players and the attractive football, it's not all to do with glory. Neutral

Born in Essex, but only lived there while I was young (till about 6-7 maybe). Was raised between Salford and Warrington.

Don't know if Colchester was actually my closest team, just know it's somewhere in Essex. It's possible Dags and Red was closer.

What? You misunderstood, what I'm saying is that its really not local at all, I consider places an hour or two drive away local, a two hour flight is not local. Saying I should just support the club closest to me is stupid because that is exactly what your against, people supporting clubs that aren't their local side. Brisbane is nowhere near local to me, therefore, as your saying I'd be a glory hunter, your contradicting yourself.

What would I be classed as if I did this? I was thinking the other day and it got me wondering.

When I go to Uni, I obviously won't be able to get a Forest season ticket anymore. As I want to go to Leeds Uni, I was thinking that, if I didn't have a job that was on a Saturday, then I wouldn't mind going to Elland Road to watch Leeds. Not to support them or be a fan, but just to be able to watch a football match live, seeing as I won't get to see Forest.
What would that make me, as it isn't my local club, and I won't be gloryhunting.

Nothing wrong with watching football as a neutral, if I go to visit my bro I'll watch his local teams game even though I don't support them, football is meant to be enjoyed whther you support the team or not. Its no different than Chelsea/Man U fans watching Liverpool games.

You don't 'hunt' it though by supporting a team which is more likely to get it.

    A cunt.

Just go to the away games up this way. If your Forest are still in Champo then you have Leeds, Hull, Donny, Sheff U, Boro, Scunny. Possibly Huddersfield and Sheff Wed too if they come up. Just go to them away games. Razz

Negative. I was born in Glasgow and my family supports Rangers so I do as well. If I was a gloryhunter I wouldnt be supporting a Scottish team thats for sure. The Scottish league gets so much flack for being shit so I dont think anybody who lives in Scotland and supports a Scottish team is a gloryhunter. Well unless you live up north ad your family supports Inverness and you support Rnagers or Celtic because their winning the league

I'd still try and get to away games which are close by, just wouldn't mind watching Leeds every week cos Saturdays are boring without football Laughing

Barnsley as well, forgot them. Trust me don't go to Leeds. I'll just constantly call you a Leeds cunt as will your fellow Forest fans if they find out. Laughing

    A football fan.
This. When I went to the nautical college in Southampton I went to watch Portsmouth and Southampton every week just to go to a game and watch some football. Portsmouth were in the PL at the time so I got to see some cracking matches and was part of a brilliant atmosphere
