If Carlos was still the worlds best he'd still be playing for Real Madrid/other top class team.
Brazil Serie A is a really good league. Roberto Carlos is still class there even at his age, i'd expect him to be class in Europe as well if he still played there. I wouldn't say he'd be #1 if he were playing in Europe, but he'd be top 5 still I would imagine.
Maybe so, I don't watch it so I wouldn't know. But I don't think it'd be possible for him to maintain full fitness play 2 games a week and play 100% like Cole can do.

TBH loads of others have said he was the best too as well so i'm not even the only one.
There's a reason he was the only player in the EPL nominated for the Ballon d'Or.

Plus it's stupid to compare two different players ability to play every match, who are nearly 10 years apart in age.

It's still a factor Brazilian league is probably a lot different to playing in Italy, Europe, England or Spain though.

Carlos was a legend no doubt but he's not top 5 in the world anymore.

As for best striker, I don't see why it's ridiculous thinking Drogba should be up there?

What?
EDIT: Oh.
Well he was suffering from Malaria for the majority of the season, and the rest of our team wwere playing like we were in league 2, so he couldn't do much.
Remember his 2 hattricks in the opening 2 games, and his hattrick of assists vs Wigan?

Brazilian clubs have a MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH more intense season than any European team or league.
Brazilian clubs have to play some 70 or so games as season, excluding Brazilian cup and continental games.

So you think 6 months has suddenly turned Drogba from a beast into a feeble old man?

Yeah I know. I was going too say Brazil don't play as many games as European leagues then I remembered

Like I said in the previous hundredthousandmilliontrillionmillionbillion threads. If Cole was any other nationality, bar English, he'd be rated higher.

Meh, i'd probably still be critical of him if he was Brazilian or whatnot.Dan wrote:Like I said in the previous hundredthousandmilliontrillionmillionbillion threads. If Cole was any other nationality, bar English, he'd be rated higher.
Although you have a point with other players. I'd probably rate Beckham, Scholes higher if they were Italian for example.
On the same note, i'd probably rate Lampard and Gerrard lower if they were Spanish or something.

How many goals has your main striker, RVP, scored in the PL then?
50? Drogba scored more then half that in a season.
