I love both the Premiership and La Liga, also really like Serie A aswell, I find it difficult not to like a league what your team play in, doesn't really add up that.
I think the whole argument comes down to the gulf in quality throughout the league. My assessment will contain no biased opinion, just going to go off facts and realitys.
If you look at Englands Top 7, to Spains top 7, for me there's a clear divide in quality and I think thats what people are picking up on, well the English lads anyway.
England I feel has a better quality of all round teams throughout the league, while Spain does have a really good 2 top world class teams. England has 7, 8 really really good teams, Spain doesn't have the depth the Premier League has in terms of quality. So people may say, Barcelona and Real Madrid may be walking away with La Liga because of how good they are, and that the Premier League is getting closer because the top teams are declining. I disagree actually.
I think the quality of teams is rising in the Premier League, Spurs are a pefect example, 2 and a half years ago, they were in the relegation zone and were in serious trouble of being relegated. Now they are one of the best teams in the league no doubt and are in the knockout stages of the Champions League, Man City, they were in the championship 6 years ago...Liverpool is Liverpool, we'll be back up there one day, Everton are a massive club aswell, they are just waiting for investement and they'll soon be back at the top (unfortunatly)
The reason the likes of Chelsea and Man Utd are not walking the premiership anymore is clear, not because they're declining, simple because other teams are growing and getting better. It's not even the top 4 in England anymore, I'd call it the top 6. Barcelona and Real Madrid would not walk the Premiership if they came into it, not a chance they would.
I like La Liga and I'll always watch it as I have always done, but theres better teams in the Premiership, all round, thats why it's tighter.
