-50 degree celsius heat in summer, oh wow is air condition in stadium? but what happens after matches? people will feel like they in a sauna
    -only 1 major city
    -only 250,000 qatari nationals
-no alcohol outside of fifa fanzone

for effort and legacy for sure qatar is deserve it. they spend so much money of course they deserve it and the promises they make like with exporting stadia is very good things to see. but logistics like population and general ability of such a small country to host such an event should not be viable but of course fifa is get erection for anything with dollar signs

qatari had the poorest technical bid out of all bids because they could not fulfill any guidelines like being able to have 8 major host cities(qatar only has 1 city!!!!). but fifa let this slide because of all the money on offer

the level of the current qatar team is not bother me as many thing can change in 12 year, is just the logistics for qatar to host did not match any of the guidline set by fifa and qatar had to change their own laws of their country to bid for this world cup and fifa had to bend their own rules

middle east deserve a world cup for sure, but not in qatar

If not in Qatar, where else in the ME?

Qatar is one of the countries with more relaxed laws.

1 major city won't be a huge deal. It's not like they can only have 1 stadium per city.

They will pay migrant workers from Saudi Arabia and other places to build stadiums. Manpower won't be an issue.

Plus they are so close to Bahrain, you have to take that into consideration.

The heat won't be a problem as long as you aren't a total idiot, in which case you probably deserve it. Plus matches are played at nights when it's cooler anyway.

even though egypt not bidding this time, and obvious would not being eligible to bid anyways, if they could bid, their technicalities would be much better than qatar who only impressive thing to feature in bid is the post cup legacy

i have never being to qatar, the closest thing for me to qatar was when i going to uae a few year ago but i have had family going to qatar many time, doha has nothing special to do and outside of doha it is most barren empty land. what are qatar going to do in 12 year? be like the national team and bring in foreign people to populate the country?

1 major city not big deal? the rule before fifa change to compensate for qatar was only 1 stadium per city and only 1 city may have 2 stadiums...yet qatar will have all 12 stadia in 1 city....you are very very silly........ 32 national teams along with their fans in such a tiny city? lol only chance for this to work is if very little fans going to this world cup which will be likely case

qatar reach average of 38-44 at nights during summer, borderline 50 and sometimes over 50 during midday

Egypt is in Africa though. Not Asia.

Things will be close together sure, but let the Qatari's figure things out. It isn't an impossible task. And like I said, Bahrain is only a 30 minutes drive from Qatar.

thats why i say they cannot bid. i just use them as example only

u cannot drive to bahrain. it is island

but anyway, u think people who bored in between games in qatar should swim to bahrain and party over there? is not viable concept. for sure if u were like a pet animal like a dog, run around in the deserts outskirts of doha may seem appealing, especially if u find some special grains of sand but i not think many people think like t his. in all the time my relative have going to qatar for business, there is noting to do there unless u interest in their local football league. but other then this, your only interest is on computer in hotel

qatar will only make alcohol available in fifa fanzone, so even in stadium during match you will not be allowed to drinking. of course drinking should not be about the world cup, but is this kind of thing that make going to other country being fun.without it what will people do? drink coffeee?

It's a shame the Bahrain F1 isn't in the World Cup period, that'd sweeten the deal. They might even change it just to take advantage.

Good point actually, they might have the Moto GP at Doha at a similar time too.

Looking at the calendar I'm not sure they would allow it. Generally speaking the hot places are at either end of the year to avoid racing on them when it's blistering. Down at the racetrack in the middle of the Summer in Bahrain would be like 70c or something eek

Qatar is the only option that makes sense in the Middle East (considering Africa can't bid).

They have bridges you know? It's a 30 minute drive from Bahrain to closest stadium I believe. They also have water taxis that go straight to the stadium.
