It's a shame that we had to take Coutinho off when he was looking lively, but it was important Gerrard got to enjoy his final Merseyside derby.

Liverpool have gone from the most entertaining team of last season to one of the most boring this season.

What a surprise, our 3 best performances in recent months. June cannot come soon enough.

Is there much scepticism about Rodgers among Liverpool fans? I was going to look on RAWK but questioning a Liverpool manager there is like reading Charlie Hebdo in Islamic State.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
I think that there is a silent understanding that Rodgers flatters to deceive with his "this is a special club" and "I loved the character we showed today" balderdash, but not enough to demand his sacking. For me personally (it might be the same for others), I just feel that the club always changes things-players, managers, coaches, etc.-without ever showing any great signs of moving forward permanently. As such, I am indifferent. I don't think we will sack him before the end of next season and I don't know who could come in and make a difference. We always seem to just go for gambles and they produce results that are acceptable but not overwhelming.ResurrectionRooney wrote:Is there much scepticism about Rodgers among Liverpool fans? I wonder if Sterling is badly advised enough to be taken in by Rodgers' bullshit

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
I thought that was one of the worst games for him & Sakho. They took far too many risks on the ball and Skrtel bailed them out 3 or 4 times.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
It wasn't his best, he makes a poor touch toward the end of that vid which almost allows Lukaku in.
I always expect 1 nervy ball from Sakho per game, he made a few in that one. His defending has been good though.
..They make for a solid partnership.

Why does Rodgers have to celebrate like that? Clearly thinking ahead to all banners and shirts they're going to print with that pose.

Can't (no pun) believe I believed those Bayern fans who called Can a donkey. He is superb, our best defender and midfielder at the same time.

Moments like 1:50 are what set him apart from the cretins we normally have at CB.

I can. Liverpool is the 6th/7th best team in England, Bayern has arguably the best selection of players on the planet.vel wrote:can't believe a Bayern reject is Liverpool's best player

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Update: he is also getting the best out of his summer signings and the team is playing well. Can looks superb, Moreno and Lallana are playing well, Markovic is improving, Balotelli is contributing, Ibe has returned from his loan and already looks competent at 19 years of age, Lovren has been sent to the bench. Especially impressive when you compare it to how the big-money signings are performing under another unnamed manager.Glen Miller wrote:BRodge putting in the extra hours and turning it around.ResurrectionRooney wrote:“I must have just dreamt that about Liverpool playing 3-4-3 in the last game [the Capital One Cup victory at Bournemouth]. What do people think that was, a bit of luck? A British coach playing 3-4-3? A foreign coach doing that would be a tactical genius. I imagine people think I fell into that system through a stroke of luck or something. Not that I might have been awake into the early hours of the morning thinking of a solution to our problem.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Good month so far for Balotelli.
Scores the winning goal tonight with a calmly taken penalty, despite the added pressure of Sturridge arguing that he should take it instead.
Assists the winning goal against Palace in the Cup with a rocket free-kick
Scores the winning goal against Spurs late on in the game.
Hopefully he tops it off against Southampton at the weekend.

Only by Balotelli's standards would this be considered a "good" month.

Fucking ridiculous behaviour at Anfield tonight. Why the hell is anyone arguing with Balotelli taking a penalty? He is one of the best penalty takers in the world, it's literally the only thing he's world class at. Rodgers needs to punish Gerrard, Henderson and Sturridge for their unprofessional behaviour.

He got off to a bad start, this has been a much needed improvement so its def a good month.

Mario took the ball off hendo and sturridge was trying to get it back. It was def embarrassing by all involved but the worse was gerrard speaking to the media like that. He should know better.

Henderson did nothing wrong. Henderson was being a team player
