Wenger is attracted to them. I'm surprised he signed Sanchez, but maybe behind that wry smile of this he knows something we don't and Sanchez will end up being a bottler as well.

Sol Campbell really was the last bastion of passion and aggression for us, and that was almost 5 years ago.

Suarez about that Gerrard slip.

It's good to see that not every player is as arrogant as Gerrard.Keyser Söze wrote:Suarez about that Gerrard slip.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Honestly if we were in the situation you were in last season and it went so completely fucked up I might give up on football altogether - I couldn't bring myself to rewatch the end of the City-QPR game until last week and we won the title before and after it. In your situation I'd rather stick pins through my eyes - all three of them - than read a book about how close we came to ending our title drought.
Maybe it goes back to the different cultures that go through football clubs. We sing about our rivals and former players more than anyone else, Arsenal boo hard tackles, Spurs whinge, Chelsea promote hatred, City sing about not being really there, Liverpool celebrate grief and racism. You have to know your market I suppose.

I am only consoled by the fact that it was Gerrard who slipped, otherwise I would refuse to watch that clip.

I think that's fair. Once Sturridge comes back we might be just be below where we were right after we signed Sturridge and Coutinho.Childish Logic wrote:I feel like we are back to when we had roy as a manager.
I mean, we're 14 points behind Southampton. That's probably because we went domestic in the market again while they showed a bit of imagination and went abroad. I was very wrong about Lovren and Lallana.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Better goalkeeper, Glen Johnson was better back then, a comparable duo in central defense, a worse LB obviously, a worse midfield, but a forward with better movement and superior goalscoring record at Liverpool. I think it's pretty close.SBSP wrote:I wouldn't go that far.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Reina was better for our system then mignolet. I get that his wages were high and that he was quite error prone in his last season here, but he still inspires much more confidence than mignolet. Plus he was a party animal, would be great to have when the team is so low on confidence.

The cherry on top of the cake for lovren will be when he forces his way out. I still think Lallana will come good but we surely need a new defensive coach.

I don't think we were as bad as we were then. More there was nothing inspiring about our team and losing wasn't surprising, playing well was.

That picture in the article is so strange to look at but that entire team Its crazy how bad our depth was back then.

That's funny, speaking of the Roy era, I checked that timehop app for what I posted on facebook in previous years, 5 years ago today I posted "no torres/gerrard and n'gog/voronin in instead = automatic liverpool loss" and then later posted "what an awful dive, n'gog is a prick".
I don't post things like that on facebook anymore.

Us, United, Spurs and Everton. All vying for midtbale.
Let's leave the top 4 places to the big boys like Swansea, Southampton and West Ham.
