I reckon they'll play a double pivot with Fabregas as the most advanced midfielder with Oscar and Matic behind.

Re: Fabregas
I also think we could see Mourinho's favoured 433 with Matic, Oscar and Fabregas as the three in the middle. But I think Fabregas as the advanced player would go against a lot of what Mourinho said early on in the season. Of course he's not adverse to changing his mind but it would be effectively either admitting he was wrong or forcing/teaching Fabregas to adapt in a way he felt Mata couldn't.
In all honesty just signing Fabregas goes against a lot of what Mourinho said about Mata. Play him advanced or play him deep, you've both alluded to how he basically has zero defensive instincts so it seems strange he'd sell a similar and more acclimatized player in Mata and buy Fabregas.

Just like Sahin wouldn't.
We're a better prospect than Arsenal, anyway.

We decided to pull out and go for the superior player, Markovic
