Julian Green is going on loan to Hamburg, which is great for them, since they lost 3-0 to Paderborn at home. Think I read somewhere that it was the first time that a debutante in the Bundesliga won their first game away from home.

Well its not like he was poor at Atletico before he got to Liverpool, he was excellent for about 6 years straight.

I dont understand why people think there's a huge mystery about what happened with Torres, he suffered a serious knee injury at the World Cup, lost some pace and never recovered. Even in his last 6 months at Liverpool he was quite hit and miss.

The real mystery is how poor his finishing is now. I guess you could attribute it to confidence, but it's still such a massive fall.

If you watch that video of all his Liverpool goals though his finishing is lethal. He scores from all angles. Confidence though, like Sponge Rob said above me.

Don't forget we were playing under Hodgson. He scored 9 PL goals for in his final half season for us. Then he went to Chelsea and only scored ONE.

9 goals in half a Premier League season is not bad. Consider that in his previous 3 full seasons for us, he had scored 18, 14 and 24, so he was on course to score maybe 18?

He should never have left. It was a mistake. Sure, he won the European Cup and the League, but at what cost? He's a joke now. He went from bing adored and idolised at Atletico Madrid and Liverpool to being a laughing stock at Chelsea.

For me, it's all down to confidence.

I'm not sure what that picture is as its not showing up.

Obviously he was worse when he went to Chelsea , but theres no doubts there were complaints about Torres' form before he went to Chelsea, even if you listen to Martin Tyler's commentary when he scored the double against Chelsea you can hear him refer to a perceived loss of form. 

Confidence did play a big part, but it all stems from that injuries, you see it all the time when players rely on their pace and then cant figure out what  to do when they lose it, Michael Owen is another example of that

I just think he had a bad start and then because he's at a new club with everything to prove he felt the pressure alot more. Plus there's also the fact he was a little shoehorned in at Chelsea, at Liverpool he was the main striker free to make runs wherever he wanted, at Chelsea he had Anelka and Drogba to compete with.

He was scoring goals, but his form was erratic and he was experiencing a loss of form previously unseen, besides perhaps the 08/09 season when he had two serious injuries that forced him to miss half of the season.

In his final season, he scored against West Brom and then went 5 matches without scoring, and experienced another gap of equal length a short while later. He only experienced a gap that long in 08/09, when he went 3 matches (1 start, 2 short cameos) before going out for an extended period, then he took 1 substitute appearance and 2 starts without a goal before finding the net again, 2 against Chelsea. He was experiencing dips in form he had simply never encountered before-even when he was injured in his early days at Liverpool, he would return to form relatively quickly (ex: torn abductor muscle in 2007, nabbed two hat-tricks in the next 3 matches; missed a couple of matches in the 2009 run-in, abused Vidic in his first match back on his way to scoring 5 in the next 6).

He looks slower and physically weaker, and he looks disinterested.  Confidence must have some role to play, but I think that his problems began before he left Liverpool.

He was playing every game and scored at home against a load of teams that were relegation fodder.

Two other transfers that appear to be happening are Cerci to Atletico Madrid, and Hernandez going on loan from Manchester United to Real Madrid for a year.

Ryan Nelsen is out at Toronto, so Jermain Defoe might head back to England with QPR.

Apparently Valencia are close to a loan deal with view to a permanent for Negredo. I mean I know he had a poor end to the season but he was brilliant the first 6 months or so.

Toronto admitted to receiving an offer for Defoe. Admitted to being in discussions with the team that made the offer, but that nothing has been decided from their end yet.

Turns out the offer is worth $11m. Yikes.

Dunno. Seems like they might just blow everything up. Their Gilberto already tweeted his approval of Nelsen being fired, but Jermain and Ryan were buddies apparently, so there must've been a divide in the locker room.

Harry Redknapp wasn't a Premier League manager when he went.

Jermain is already physically back in England. So a transfer seems like a no brainer.
