Re: Summer Transfers 2014
Would be very surprised if a striker was signed. Only thing that gives me some hope is that Sanogo wasn't part of the New York squad which suggests that his immediate future may not be at the club. Surely if he were loaned out Arsene wouldn't be foolish enough to go into the new season with one centre forward.

If he's replacing Vermaelen than I'm more than fine with it, he'd be a decent replacement. If he's taking up money that could be used on a DM and ST then I'm not.
A right back replacing a centre back, now how does that work?

Don't ask me. I'm not going to be involved in his development.jeb4eva wrote:Keyser Söze wrote:Chambers to Arsenal.

He's only 19 and reports suggest Arsenal "see him as an option at right-back, centre-back or in a more advanced role"

Well this Chambers transfer came by surprise so I'm hoping (with all my might) our lack of concrete interest in a striker isn't a sign of our intentions.Ra's al Ghul wrote:Would be very surprised if a striker was signed. Re: Summer Transfers 2014
It'd be quite baffling if Chambers went. He's guaranteed a lot more game time at Southampton but maybe the lure of Champions League football will see him leave.

Don't know what to think of Chambers, I'm hoping Jordi will come by and give us an idea of what he's like and whether he's a worthwhile signing. All I'm seeing so far is that it's a great signing, he's super talented, super versatile, has super potential, but that's pretty much the protocol on social media when it comes to signing a young, English player.

Some Southampton fans rated him higher than Shaw apparently.

Lovren, Chambers (probably), Shaw, Lallana, and Lambert all gone. Their first team is being decimated.

Think we should all chip in and play for Southampton this season.

Now to sign another striker...
Torres and Drogba as back up strikers.

Re: Summer Transfers 2014
Is it likely we will sign another striker? The thought of having to wait till next season for a chance to win the premiership isn't great when this upcoming season hasn't even started yet.

Re: Summer Transfers 2014
Not only do we have shit back up strikers.. Lampard has now joined City. Fuck everything… Although he's not that good anymore and any minutes he does play could be beneficial for teams competing with City, still not good to see him playing for them.

Re: Summer Transfers 2014
Rafa Marquez will make his return to European football at the ripe ol' age of 35 with Serie A's Hellas Verona.
Crazy to think that a few years ago I taught he had given all there was left to give, after the fiasco at Red Bulls.

Well that's not right. People go to MLS to retire. How did he end up in Europe after he retired?

Re: Summer Transfers 2014
DeAndre Yedlin is in London trying to get a deal done with Tottenham, though he would likely join up with the team in January. And New England is going after Jermaine Jones after he turned down Chicago.

What's that? A young player leaving the MLS?
Makes sense, young people aren't admitted into retirement homes.

Then how's he been there for the past two years? Confusion? Alzheimer's?

Most retirement homes hire young staff to help the elderly patients and cheer them up. Usually they leave after a couple of years when they find something better.

Oh. I thought the care takers eventually became the residents of the retirement homes. Learn something new every day.
