I'd go as far as saying that's a team worthy of competing with the Liverpool of the 2008/09 season.

Nowhere near as good as the 2009 team.

Sell Downing as well, and it would be the greatest transfer window for any team that ever existed.

Needs more Aquilani.

Yeah, Allen should be in for Gerrard if we don't get Aquilani back in the red shirt.

I have never seen a better performance from Liverpool since. :clap:Aquaman was the architect.

Thinking back, we had Mascherano, Alonso and Gerrard in the middle, so you're probably right. However, the above team would be a force to reckon with in terms of competing for 4th place, imo.

As for Aquilani, such a silky player. I remember being gutted every time we let him go out on loan, and then when we eventually sold him. 

Thankfully, it appears that we have a new gem at the Club now.

I am hoping that next season, we will see more of Suso. He looked great when we used him at the start of last season. Comparable to Coutinho in terms of playing style. Having both Coutinho and Suso on the pitch in top form would be a sight to behold.

That would be awesome, and you replace Suarez with Mkhitaryan if necessary.  If we sell both Suarez (30) and Carroll (12-15), you have to think that we'll probably have around 55 million to spend.  I can't help but feel that Rodgers might be better off spending only a portion of that money.  I don't want for us to panic and overpay like we did last summer & under Kenneth.  I keep on hearing that we intelligently only added scouts in November after the 25+ million outlay, so that might change how we do business.  

I still struggle to see how we will break into the top 4, unfortunately.  Arsenal are now intelligently going for the jugular economically, Manchester City & Chelsea brought in good managers, while Manchester United will still be a strong side despite David Moyes' best efforts.  Our best hope might be to win the Europa League after any rule change.

Arsenal are generally a vulnerable side, compared to the rest of the 'competition'. If we shored up our defence, kept Suarez, and kept up the pace with the pack for the first ten games...good a chance as any.  Every if there, is a big if though. So no foolish optimism from me.

I love Suso but don't be comparing him to Coutinho just yet. 

Coutinho is a level above - Dat touch, dat ball control - best we've seen for while.

Would be great to see them together although i don't like seeing Suso on the wing.

I only compared their playing styles.

We should go for Moses and Marin if they are available.   Marin has been a bit poor for them, but I gather he was good a few years ago. Moses is just a demigod amongst gods at Chelsea, he'll be amongst men at Liverpool.

Agreed. Today I have increased my Followers to Following ratio from 1.42:1 to 1.48:1.

It's all about the FTF, at the end of the day.  You lose credibility when it sinks below 1.

My goal is at least 1.64:1. That will make me a very happy and humble man.

I think that the 12th percentile should be your goal, really.  If you get much higher, official club accounts will start noticing and dismissing your scoops.

Perhaps I could push it to the 14th or 15th percentile and try to remain under the radar so to speak.

Agreed, the last thing I want is a football club harassing me and my family, if I'm lucky enough to get to the 12th percentile then I will aim to remain there, but I will allow fluctuations up until the 13th percentile. If FTF gets any higher than that, then I will implement a Twitter hiatus upon myself as to restore order.
