Menalawyerguy brings up an excellent point. Jamie Carragher's presence in the team forces the defensive line extremely deep, inviting the opposition onto us when we are not attacking. This was most costly in the match against Arsenal.CollieBuddz wrote:Care to explain why?

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Playing the defense deeper in those games was part of Rodgers' tactics, it wasn't just because of Carragher

SO who would you prefer to see Coutinho in for?

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Can he play on the wing? If he can, then swap him with Downing. If not, keep him on the bench, Henderson doesn't deserve to be dropped

If you knew how good Coutinho was you'd be talking about how lucky you are he signed for you, let alone about dropping Henderson

He can't be that good if Inter are letting him go for 8.5m and our only competition was Southampton.

Being better than Henderson isn't exactly an achievement, but the same could be said about the lack of interest in Monreal, Sissokho or Luis Suarez. Sometimes good players don't get picked up on

Is he that good? I just mean I wouldn't want to drop Henderson at this moment in time, he's in good form. Am I right in saying Coutinho can play on the wing?

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Did anyone see Jonjo Shelvey's arrogant comments in the press? He seems to be another player who cannot take responsibility for his own mistakes & lack of genuine quality. He is impulsive, lethargic, and offers nothing but Hollywood balls, the likes of which I have not seen since Charlie Adam attempted to pass with his right foot.
I just hope he is not becoming another Jamie Carragher who uses the media to get back into the team.

You should replicate the above style of post on The Fannysister forum, at least there you'll have a bigger audience than the grand total of one you have at the moment.
Possibly putting your "talent" to good use for once, in the process.
If I don't happen to see you around again in the future, I'll know that your venture was a success.

Top class strike, and when anyone scores a goal like that you cant help but love them goals. Although its better when its for your team.JamieB wrote:Alan wrote:Has played every minute of every game in the Premier League this season, and has scored 6 goals and made 9 assists in his 25 League games this season and some wanted him to be dropped not that long ago.
Can't help but fucking love that goal...

Also says at the bottom of that article that Zenit are gonna bid for Skrtel this month. Their transfer window is open until the 27 February.
For now, the Uruguay international insists he and his family are happy on Merseyside, but when asked by Spanish radio station Marca if they should "talk about his future again in June," Suarez stated bluntly: "Yes, we should talk this June or the next one, in 2014. My contract ends in 2018.
"My family is very happy here and I'm living a dream: playing for a club that every kid wants to play for. So we're content, for now."
Suarez explained: "We will see at the end of the season what Liverpool's position is - we're not the Liverpool of old. We're coming out of a rough patch, but this is a transition period with a new gaffer and a different philosophy.
"The players enjoy how the manager wants us to play. All we need are the results and to finish in the Champions League spots.
"We would like to qualify for the Champions League if possible. We are young and growing as a team and when the players mature, we will be stronger."

Can we sell players outside of our transfer window?

Yeah. Nani nearly left for Zenit in September of last year.

I think we'll go for Williams, heavily linked with him last month. Would anyone take him?
