Cazorla, Mata, van Persie is level with him overall imo, but he's definitely been one of the best, feel like I'm missing someone.

Agreed. Don't know why it's so absurd to say Suarez is one of the best in the League.

I think it's absurd to say he hasn't been one of the best this season.

He's the top fucking scorer. How isn't he one of the best players in the league at the moment?Carlos Jenkinson wrote:S. wrote:
He is one of the best players in the League right now. Who's doing better than him?
I wasn't talking about his stats to support the claim that he's the best in the league, I only brought it up because you said he hadn't scored as many as Podolski and Giroud combined. Stop making up things to suit your argument. It's desperate.
Every comment I made was in reference to how many he had scored compared to Giroud and Podolski. Not in reference to Jela saying he's the best player in the League. Hope you understand better now.
You're such a fucking idiot, you're talking about me trying to make up things when you don't even understand what you're saying... Christ

Don't think you've missed anyone by the way. Aguero hasn't been as good as last season, same with Yaya and Silva. Hazard and Oscar have been good, but not quite the level of Suarez, RVP and Cazorla.

Suarez is carrying a team full of shite cunts and pre-mature pretty boys. He's basically the RVP of last season and we all know how that turned out. He's easily one of the best players this season so far and to say he is THE best isn't 'laughable' at all. It's debatable, yes but don't be a retard and laugh at something which isn't far from the truth.

He's definitely the most in form player, but no way is he the best player in the league full stop.

Disagree my friend, he's top scorer due to the fact he plays every single minute of every game, and he is the focal point of Liverpool's team.
Had the following players been in the same situation for their clubs, then I believe they could clearly match or beat Suarez's total: Van Persie, Rooney, Hernandez, Berbatov, Welbeck, Podolski, Aguero, Tevez, Balotelli, Dzeko, Torres, Defoe, Adebayor, Ba, Bent and arguably more considering these are off the top of my head.
That is roughly 15 strikers that could match what Suarez has done put in the same situation, must be getting towards half the strikers in the league
Very true, my friend. Not only is he the focal point of Liverpool, he is the only player in the team who possesses any goal threat. Also, if we were to exclude Cristiano Ronaldo, he takes more shots than any other player in Europe. It is very unsurprising that he's the top scorer in the league.

OptaJoe @OptaJoe
10 - Luis Suárez is the PL top scorer, has created the most chances from open play (35) & has had most touches in opp box (131). Fulcrum.
But he's not even that good?

Yeah I was meaning to post that I saw in the stats he was third in chances created per minute, basically joint second with Cazorla and Mata was ahead by a little bit.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
I've just been reading TLW and the stories don't paint a pretty picture.
There was that tweet he deleted about him signing when he's 18.
His agent is also the agent of Oxlade Chamberlain and apparantly Arsenal are mad cause he's asking for like 60 grand now.
He also apparently left QPR because they wouldn't offer him enough.
And apparently when Kenny was in charge and before he gave him his debut his agent told the club he wanted a move back to London because he wasn't getting a go in the first team.

It is not that bad of a situation, if the worst comes to the worst, we sell him for an inflated fee.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
We won't get an inflated fee for a 17/18 year old with a year left on his contract. We'll get bent over because clubs will just let us further develop him in the first team for a year then take him for pennies.

If he's the only goal threat defenders should be able to stop him shooting without overly worrying about the rest of the team. They can't so clearly he is one of the most skilful players in the league.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
hah why would anybody complain about a decent player having shots at goal? Isn't the point of the game to score goals...?
Also disagree with Liam's argument....many of those players could not carry our mediocre team themselves.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
I think it's stupid that people say Suarez only has so many goals because he has so many shots. I think he had the most shots out of anyone in the PL last season and only finished with 11 goals. Pisses on the aforementioned argument. He has altered his game though, instead of attempting the near-impossible, he now seems to be focusing on hitting the target. When he misses these days, it's usually a narrow miss a couple inches from the post, whereas last season, most of his misses were rushed shots sliced 20 metres wide of the goal.

You say that but Van Persie is still doing it, and scoring much more important goals. Nearly half of Suarez's goal's this season have been against sides like Norwich and what... Wigan? Van Persie's scored goals in comebacks that will be much more vital towards the end, he's even helped Man Utd qualify in games they were losing through the champions league.
I don't think it's stupid, I just personally don't think he's near that at all

Van Persie has scored goals against Manchester United's rivals in Chelsea and Arsenal while Suarez has scored against Liverpool's rivals in Wigan Athletic and Sunderland, I do not see the problem.Carlos Jenkinson wrote:Jord wrote:Suarez is carrying a team full of shite cunts and pre-mature pretty boys. Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
That was a fucking dumb comment from Foncesca. It's not like strikers choose when to score. They're always trying to score, no matter who they're playing against. Also, like someone said above, Suarez has scored important goals too against Man City, Newcastle, Chelsea etc. Without Suarez's goals, we'd be very close to the bottom of the League, so it's bullshit to say they've not been important goals. Retarded argument, but I'd expect as much from him.

Yeh I bet, first it's Liverpool fans denial over being a midtable team... Now it's that one man is single handedly keeping Liverpool from being in the relegation zone... Is that what it is now? Should we put Suarez on the field by himself? Doesn't work like that
You're deluded if you think Suarez has scored as much vital goals as Van persie, I said nothing about "choosing when they score" either, I was highlighting that Suarez's goals mean little bar what Jeff's said which ended in draws anyway.
You're so desperate Scott, like literally everytime

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Wow, way to hyperbole pretty much everything I said, lol. Idiot.
Why does the importance of the goals even matter? Suarez has scored 10, RVP has scored 8, Suarez is in better goal scoring form and has been at least on par with, or arguably better than RVP performance-wise so far. Trying to deny this just makes you look desperate. It's hilarious how you to to use the importance of goals to help your argument, when in reality, that's just down to the timing of the goal .. Nothing to do with how good the player is. By your argument, Gerrard must be fucking amazing, due to all the massively important goals he's scored for us in the past.
Goals are goals. Who against and when they are scored doesn't change this. I guess RVP chooses not to score against the easier teams because he saves them all for more important times? Yeah, okay.
